The Wautoma Fire Department is the lucky recipient of a grant from the Community Foundation of Wisconsin. The grant allowed the department to purchase white helmets for the Chief and Assistant Chiefs. Two people escaped out of a home on Madison’s east side Friday morning after smoke alarms went off, the City of Madison Fire Department reports. A fire early Friday morning along the 200 block of North 12th Avenue in Dillon destroyed a two-story storage building, and shed, burned two vehicles and killed a dog and pet snake, according to Dillon Fire Chief Keith Bailey. Little information is currently available on a boat fire that broke out Wednesday on Shawano Lake. Viewer-submitted pictures and video show a large plume of smoke rising in the air as the vessel, which appears to be a speed boat, is completely engulfed in flames. VIDEO: The man who was trapped in the rubble of a house explosion in LaFayette before being rescued has died. The Walworth County Sheriff's Office identified him as 68-year-old Leland Holden.
