Scattered snow showers or flurries will linger Sunday morning, with some minor additional accumulations across the far north. With temperatures in the upper teens to middle 20s, the powdery type snow will make for slick roads for holiday travelers. Hazardous travel is still possible on Sunday as northerly winds gusting to 25 to 30 mph produce some blowing and drifting of the new snow. Though snow continues to diminish away from the snowbelts of north-central WI through the evening, reports coming in are indicating that roads, parking lots and sidewalks are becoming very slippery due to black ice. As temperatures continue to fall through the 20s, any residual moisture from melting snow will freeze up. Use caution if traveling as roads that look wet may be icy. Be especially aware on bridges and overpasses. Where it is still snowing this evening, expect visibility to be reduced to less than a mile at times as winds gusting to 40 mph will lead to blowing and drifting snow.
