One man remains in critical condition after an intense fire at a Brooklyn apartment building that firefighters say was sparked by a charging lithium-ion battery. A work site on the west side was excavated for a natural gas leak Wednesday morning, the Madison Fire Department said. Construction workers at a site near the West Towne Mall reported a leak around 8:45 a.m. after they struck a gas line while doing grading and paving work along Mineral Point Road.
