central and north-central Wisconsin. The fog is patchy, so watch
out for rapidly changing visibility if you are driving this
morning, especially during the morning commute. The fog should
dissipate by 9 am.

The Grand Chute Fire Department (GCFD) was dispatched to Woodman’s Grocery Store on North Westhill Blvd. after receiving reports of what is called a ‘suspicious’ fire just after 4 p.m. on Friday.
According to the release, the dispatchers in Outagamie County were informed that black smoke was seen in a store bathroom and people were evacuating as the fire alarm sounded.

VIDEO: At the Henrico Fire Department Training Facility off Woodman Road, fire crews got an extra hand from nearly 60 young girls who they hope to one day possibly recruit to the force. It was all part of their two-day summer camp called Girls on Fire.

Two people were rescued from the water in De Pere after officials say their boat went over the dam at Voyager Park.
De Pere Fire Rescue got the call Saturday night around 5 p.m. They say a small inflatable boat was seen near a fishing pier with two people inside.
Both were rescued after firefighters threw a rope to the couple and pulled them to shore.

VIDEO: On Thursday, the La Crosse Fire Department held an open house for its new Fire Station 4.
After nearly a year of construction, the station is now open on Gillette Street. It is the department's second new station in the past 14 months, joining Station 2 on the UW-L campus.
The new building houses several response and specialty vehicles, seven full-time firefighters, and a new north side police office.

Four new ambulances are now wrapped with a Blue Angels theme.
The county says the design was developed by an employee and retrofitted by a company to be applied to the ambulances' shape and model.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: An Appleton park honoring a fallen firefighter is showing off its upgrades.
The city held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Lundgaard Park on Lightning Drive Wednesday.
It features a fire station-themed playground and basketball and pickleball courts.
The park is dedicated to Mitchell Lundgaard, a 14-year veteran of the Appleton Fire Department, who was shot and killed while responding to a medical call at the Valley Transit Center in May of 2019.

VIDEO: A fire that started in the kitchen of a Tomah home on Wednesday morning ends up causing damage throughout the residence.
Tomah Fire Chief Tim Adler said they were called about 8:30 a.m. for the fire at 826 Cranberry Circle.
Heavy smoke was coming from the front windows on the first floor.
Once inside, crews found that the fire had spread to the upstairs part of the home.

A large commercial fire in Rosemead sent up thick plumes of black smoke visible from throughout the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles.

VIDEO: Research indicates firefighters are at a higher risk of getting and dying from esophageal cancer. The Fort Worth Fire Department wants to get ahead of it.
On Wednesday, the department began esophageal cancer testing at its training facility, which will last through the end of next week.
“We’ve done some other cancer screenings, but the previous cancer screenings that we do do not detect the esophageal cancer, which… with our job… we’re at a greater risk than the general public," said Jason Cearley, a battalion chief with the department.
