Janesville garage fire causes over $100K in damages

Everyone is safe after a fire broke out at an attached garage in Janesville but a lot of damage was left behind, according to the Janesville Fire Department. Battalion Chief Josh Uecker said the fire happened Sunday at about 7:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of Doe Court. When crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the eaves and roof of the house.

Video of deadly Las Vegas fire shows man on fire, person jumping from window

VIDEOS: A dramatic video 8 News Now obtained captures a person dangling out of the second-floor window of an apartment building that was on fire. The fire happened on Sunday night in the 3900 block of Spencer Street at the Riverbend Village Apartments near Flamingo Road. According to the American Red Cross, Sunday’s deadly fire displaced 19 residents but that number could rise.

Police, fire departments in one Minnesota city closer than ever months after first responders killed in standoff

New policy in Michigan allows 1-year temporary license for EMS trainees

HB-4613 and HB-4614 stretch "temporary licenses" for medical first responders from 120 days to a year and allow them to work on ambulances as long as they're supervised. Appleton burn survivor shares story to help others heal

It’s the reason Jeffrey Jordan shares his story to help raise awareness and money at the Paul Davis Invitational. Monday was the 20th annual golf outing at Maple Bluff Country Club in Madison. It was put on by UW Health Wound Healing Services, Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety and Paul Davis.

‘Suspicious’ bathroom fire at Grand Chute supermarket under investigation

The Grand Chute Fire Department (GCFD) was dispatched to Woodman’s Grocery Store on North Westhill Blvd. after receiving reports of what is called a ‘suspicious’ fire just after 4 p.m. on Friday. According to the release, the dispatchers in Outagamie County were informed that black smoke was seen in a store bathroom and people were evacuating as the fire alarm sounded.

Two people rescued after boat goes over Voyager Park dam in De Pere

Two people were rescued from the water in De Pere after officials say their boat went over the dam at Voyager Park. De Pere Fire Rescue got the call Saturday night around 5 p.m. They say a small inflatable boat was seen near a fishing pier with two people inside. Both were rescued after firefighters threw a rope to the couple and pulled them to shore.

La Crosse Fire Department holds open house for new Fire station No. 4

It is the department's second new station in the past 14 months, joining Station 2 on the UW-L campus. Florida EMS unveils Blue Angels-themed ambulances

PHOTO: Escambia County EMS is showing off their new ambulances and they have a different look. Four new ambulances are now wrapped with a Blue Angels theme. The county says the design was developed by an employee and retrofitted by a company to be applied to the ambulances' shape and model. "Being here in Escambia County and Pensacola, the Blue Angels are a pride and joy of this area," Training Supervisor Houston Harvell said.

Appleton unveils Lundgaard Park upgrades honoring fallen firefighter

VIDEO/PHOTOS: An Appleton park honoring a fallen firefighter is showing off its upgrades. The city held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Lundgaard Park on Lightning Drive Wednesday. It features a fire station-themed playground and basketball and pickleball courts. The park is dedicated to Mitchell Lundgaard, a 14-year veteran of the Appleton Fire Department, who was shot and killed while responding to a medical call at the Valley Transit Center in May of 2019.
