The Madison Fire Department said Saturday crews were dispatched to an apartment fire on Madison's west side, only to find that the fire had already been extinguished by a sprinkler head in the unit.
The MFD said crews responded to a fire alarm report at Segoe Terrace Apartments, an 8-story building.

We have learned more details regarding a massive fire that broke out on Saturday in Jackson. As of Monday morning, the huge fire that occurred at the Mississippi Tire Recycling building located at East McDowell Road and Parcel Drive still burns.
Jackson Fire Assistant Chief Patrick Armon said firefighters are still actively trying to put out the blaze.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after he fired shots at fire and EMS officials and then fled from the scene in a fire vehicle.
Officials state around 11:45 a.m. Rowan County emergency services and Atwell Fire Department responded to Shinn Farm Road and Hwy. 152 in regards to an unconscious male sitting in a vehicle.

Roads have reopened and there is no longer a threat to the public after a propane leak near 4400 Sycamore Avenue Thursday afternoon.
The leak was reported at 2:29 p.m. Roads reopened at 4:20 p.m.
The Madison Fire Department said the leak involved a 1,000-gallon tank with a broken valve. The tank at the time had roughly 300 gallons of propane in it.

VIDEO: Fire survivors from Beloit, Madison and other Wisconsin communities celebrated the Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth’s 30th anniversary during visitor’s day in Walworth County.
The weeklong camp ends on Saturday, but on Thursday, Wisconsin firefighters drove their engines out to Timber-lee Campgrounds for campers to waive at their parents from inside the trucks during a parade.

Hartford Fire & Rescue responded to Wayside Drive for the report of a tree that fell and landed on a car and a house, with downed power lines arcing and smoking.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the downed power lines to be actively arcing on the house. Hartford Fire & Rescue firefighters assured that all occupants of the house had evacuated, and made entry to check for fire extension.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A logging truck flipped over in a crash that left its trailer hanging over a wall on a highway in New Hampshire on Friday morning.
The southbound side of Interstate 293 near Exit 6 in Manchester was closed to traffic following the wreck, according to New Hampshire State Police.
The truck driver and the driver of a sedan also involved in the crash were taken to Elliot Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A new law looks to change how forever chemicals are used in firefighting gear. At a signing ceremony on Beacon Hill on Thursday, Governor Maura Healey signed a bill into law meant to protect firefighters from harmful PFAS in their equipment which have been linked to higher rates of cancer. VIDEO: A semi-truck with a tanker hauling liquid manure collided with a Wisconsin Southern train Wednesday afternoon in Sheboygan County.
It happened on Abbott Drive west of Wisconsin Highway 57 in the town of Sherman.
The truck driver, a 66-year-old from Kewaskum, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office said.

Smoke coming from a plastic garbage can prompted the fire department to respond to a Fond du Lac apartment.
At 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, crews were dispatched to 175 S. National Avenue for a report of smoke coming from an apartment building.
Firefighters found moderate smoke coming from an individual apartment.

On Wednesday, August 14 at 10:53, the Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department was dispatched to Masonite at 1401 E. 4th Street for a fire inside of a silo. E-3, E-2, T-1, and A-95 responded.

When a 9-year-old Fayette County boy attempted to follow a TikTok trend, creating what is known as a Jolly Rancher Grape, he tripped while carrying a bowl of molten candy liquid and suffered severe burns.

Around 500 gallons of water was used on a fire at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac on Tuesday evening.
According to a release, Fond du Lac Fire & Rescue was sent to Mercury Marine Plant 15 at 560 West Pioneer Road.
Upon arrival, fire personnel found smoke coming from the building’s roof vent, and evacuations were in progress.

Demolition work consisting of cutting with torches was the cause of a fire at a metal recycling facility on Monday, according to the Madison Fire Department.
Spokesperson Cynthia Schuster said firefighters were called to Alter Metal Recycling, 4400 Sycamore Avenue, for a reported structure fire in an outbuilding separate from the main recycling facility.
