Antique Fire Apparatus Show Dazzles in Ohio

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The annual Miami Valley Antique Fire Apparatus Show was held on Saturday, August 31. This was the fifth year the show was held at Carillon Historical Park. It is hosted by the Miami Valley Antique Fire Apparatus Association (MVAFAA). Over 30 pieces of firefighting antiques displayed 150 years of firefighting history.

Fire causes building collapse, two others catch fire leaving residents displaced in Milwaukee

PHOTO: The Milwaukee Fire Department is investigating a house fire that led to two other buildings catching fire near Center and Bremen around 11:20 p.m. September 3. Fire officials confirmed to CBS 58 upon arrival a fire was showing from all three floors of a two-and-a-half story building, which then spread to two other buildings.

Green Bay area firefighters go back to school thanks to FEMA grant

If you think the majority of calls to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department are fire-related, you’d be wrong. The bulk of calls, 68% of them so far this year, to be exact, are EMS calls. “We have highly trained and skilled paramedics and that is really the backbone of our agency and what we do,” says Matthew Knott, Chief of GBMFD.

VIDEO: Stubborn multi-alarm fire burns through tire shop in New York

A stubborn five-alarm fire burned for hours through a tire shop in Jamaica, Queens on Tuesday. Firefighters responded to 150-17 Liberty Ave. around 5:15 p.m. The fire started in the rear of a two-story tire shop where flames were seen billowing 20 feet into the air. Part of the building and roof collapsed.

'Stress is up': Florida firefighters train for World Rescue Challenge

Firefighters at Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District are training up. Jordan Green is the Lieutenant Paramedic and leads operations. He says in the case that someone is stuck in a car, firefighters go through a specific process to safely get them out.

Mississippi fire department makes child’s firefighter dream come true

VIDEO: Eight-year-old Romeo Weaver had a dream of being a firefighter, and the Gulfport Fire Department made that happen. Though there have been several tests, Romeo is technically still undiagnosed, but his mother says they are labeling it cerebral palsy. She added that before he caught COVID, Romeo was able to feed himself and use his walker, but after that, things went downhill.

Town of Buchanan Fire & Rescue removes trapped driver who crashed into strip mall

Two stores in a Town of Buchanan strip mall have been temporarily closed after a driver crashed into the building shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. A release from the Town of Buchanan Fire & Rescue states that firefighters were called to the N100 block of Eisenhower Drive for reports of a driver who was trapped inside a vehicle after they had crashed into the building.

Racine Fire Department: Working smoke detectors save family and their dog from house fire

Working smoke detectors helped save a family of six and their dog from a house fire over the weekend. According to a press release from the Racine Fire Department (RFD), crews were called shortly after 6 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 1, to a home in the 1200 block of West Lawn for a report of a house fire. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke coming from the front door and flames inside the home.

A massive fire destroyed the Wolf Lodge Inn near Coeur d'Alene Monday. The fire was reported around noon and multiple fire trucks and ambulances responded. Firefighters upgraded to a four-alarm fire requesting assistance from Idaho Department of Lands, Idaho State Police, Spokane County, and Shoshone County.

7th annual Richard Garner Memorial Ride will honor late Madison firefighter

As a massive plume of black smoke permeated the sky above Fort Wayne Wednesday, the blaze reminded some of a historic fire that happened in southeast Fort Wayne nearly 27 years ago. On Aug. 30, 1997, a fire broke out at an abandoned tire warehouse on Bowser Avenue in southeast Fort Wayne. The fire happened less than a mile from Wednesday’s fire at the intersection of Wayne Trace and New Haven Avenue.

Kansas top five in nation for arson fires

A national report indicates Kansas is one of the leading states for arson incidents. Last year, there were 5,440 arson incident reports made to the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). Kansas made up 6% of the nation’s arson reports with 307 cases. Kansas had the fifth most cases of incendiary fires in the U.

'Extreme makeover' underway to convert RV dealership into new fire station in Nevada
