Witnesses say a tree fell on a power line during Monday's thunderstorms, and that sparked the blaze at the Milltown community center. Milltown is near Luck and Balsam Lake, Wisconsin.

Two people were injured in a boat explosion at a New Jersey marina Wednesday afternoon.
Old Bridge Township Police said officers were sent to the Raritan Marina just before 3:30 p.m.
Video from Chopper 2 shows firefighters spraying water on a boat engulfed in flames in the creek. The flames sent plumes of black smoke billowing into the air.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The city of Hartselle says two firefighters were taken to the hospital after a fire truck hit a house Wednesday afternoon.
In a post on social media, the city said that while returning from a fire call Wednesday, the driver of fire engine two experienced a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle near the Dollar General on Highway 36 West.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: There was a celebration in San Jose for a milestone birthday of a retired fire captain.
Sam Seibert turned 105 years old on Tuesday.
And to honor him, a party was held at the San Jose Fire Museum, which he helped create years ago. Seibert served with the department from 1946 to 1976 and he is the oldest known living former San Jose firefighter.

VIDEO: Firefighters in Maitland had to battle an early morning fire at their own station on Wednesday.
Officials say the flames destroyed three vehicles parked behind Fire Station 47 on Fennell Street, but luckily, no one was hurt. The station is next to the Maitland Police Department and both buildings were surrounded by caution tape after the fire.

Wisconsin's first responders will receive upgraded life-saving equipment, thanks to a $100,000 dollar grant from the We Energies Foundation.
The money is part of the "Rewarding Responders" grant program, which, since 2020, has given more than $400,000 dollars to public safety agencies.
This year, nearly 60 departments in the state are benefitting from the funds, including several in southeast Wisconsin.

First responders in the Village of Kronenwetter received a pleasant surprise Wednesday when the WPS Foundation awarded them nearly $4,000 in grant money for new equipment.
The Village Fire Department was awarded $2,000 for new helmets, which Chief Kris Grod says came at just the right time. “Our [current] helmets are set to expire at the end of this year,” he said.

Mayor Joe Hammer read a proclamation for Captain Jake Bisbee of the Columbus Fire Department who retired in January after 18 years of service.

Plumes of smoke filled the night sky after a massive barge caught fire overnight Tuesday.
The smell of smoke continues to linger in Queens where the fire broke out.
Officials say they were able to put out the flames at the Sims Metal Facility in just under two hours.
The video of the scene shows the intensity of the flames, which looked like a large ball of fire with heavy smoke rising and billowing into the air.

VIDEO: Firefighters are warning parents after a Cocomelon children’s book caused a minivan fire in North Carolina.
The George Hildebran Fire & Rescue Department said Sunday that a child’s car seat caught fire soon after the child had gotten out.
After the flames were put out, the Fire Marshal’s Office determined that the fire was started by a “button battery” inside a children’s book that was left underneath the seat.

The Beaver Dam Fire Department has the only dive team in Dodge County. Fire Chief Michael Wesle says it is key for its members to stay up-to-date on current practices and conduct trainings when necessary.

The Grand Chute Fire Department credits an automatic sprinkler system for suppressing a fire at an area trampoline park.
Just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday, GCFD was dispatched for a commercial fire alarm in the 4700 block ofWest Lawrence Street.
Responding units were advised the fire alarm "indicated a water flow alarm in one of two businesses at that location, then followed up with a report of another fire alarm notification in the second business.

A Green Bay homeowner was alerted by her neighbors on Sunday that her garage was on fire.
Just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to a garage fire in the 1400 block of Farlin Avenue. At the scene they found an attached garage with smoke coming out of it.
The owner of the home wasn’t aware that there was a fire until her neighbors alerted her to it.

At least nine people were injured in a four-alarm fire that swept across a cluster of buildings in Brooklyn late Monday night, according to the FDNY.
The fire broke out at a building on Dean Street between Mother Gaston Boulevard and Sackman Street around 10:40 p.m. Over 160 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene, per fire officials.
