Missouri fire department faces 119th line-of-duty death since 1887

The Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department has had its 119th firefighter die in the line of duty since 1887. A firefighter-paramedic with the department died during a training exercise on Tuesday. KSHB 41's Isabella Ledonne learned the majority of firefighter deaths are from medical emergencies, including the most recent death from KCFD's very own.

Off-duty officer spots flames, alerts family to Fond du Lac house fire

An off-duty Fond du Lac police officer is credited for spotting a fire on a porch of a home on S. Peters Avenue – and alerting the family inside. The fire was spotted by the off-duty officer just after midnight on Monday, Sept. 17. A news release says he quickly notified the sleeping residents inside – and called the fire.

Fire causes thousands in damages to two De Pere buildings

De Pere Fire Rescue and the Fox River West Fire District were dispatched Sunday morning after a passer-by noticed smoke and flames coming from a speculated vehicle or building on Red Maple Road. Upon arriving to the scene, firefighters located flames spreading between a painting shop and plumbing shop, both being located inside connecting metal buildings.

VIDEO: Pipeline fire in Texas burns throughout the night, into morning

Nearly 24 hours after a pipeline in Deer Park burst into flames, that fire was still intensely burning. The temperature from the fire was so intense it torched a nearby playground. Firefighters hosed down their equipment and nearby homes, but that wasn’t enough to fight back against the radiant heat.

Fire displaces four people, two cats above Madison café

An 8-unit apartment complex in Beaver Dam is "uninhabitable" after a fire on Saturday, according to the Beaver Dam Fire & Rescue Department. The Dodge County Sheriff's Office received reports of smoke in the area of Lake Crest Drive around 11:45 p.m. Upon arrival, crews determined the smoke to be coming from 113 Lake Crest Dr.

Vanderburgh County dispatch confirms there was a working commercial structure fire Saturday at Pike’s Mattress. Waukesha Fire Department responds to apartment fire, firefighter hurt

Rock County business up and running after devastating fire

Morrison's Auto Parts is up and running as usual after a fire destroyed one building on the property. The fire broke out at the salvage yard around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday. It started in one of the metal buildings where employees dismantle cars. From there, the fire began to swallow the building, causing the roof to collapse and the walls to cave in.

Fire engine returned to New York fire department after being decommissioned for 60 years

Arizona fire agencies come together to learn new techniques for palm tree rescues
