The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) State Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting a fire investigation in Schofield, Wis. that occurred Monday morning, according to a DOJ release.

Crews Contain Stairway Fire at Roche-A-Cri State Park in Adams County

Fire crews from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and local agencies contain a fire that burned about 6.5 acres at Roche-A-Cri State Park in Adams County. The Stairway Fire began in late Sunday afternoon at the park on top of the Roche-A-Cri Mound stairway. The fire burned mostly leaves and pine needles.

Task Force 1 Returns from North Carolina, Ready for Next Possible Mission in Florida

A group of Wisconsin firefighters are waiting to see if they’ll be deployed to Florida to help with rescue and recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Milton. They’re part of Task Force 1 — a statewide search and rescue team. Sixteen members returned to Wisconsin over the weekend after working in western North Carolina, following Hurricane Helene.

Crews investigating Walworth County house fire

A Walworth County community is shaken after a large house fire on Saturday night, Oct. 5. The fire started just before 6 p.m. in a rural area east of Elkhorn. "I was really worried because a lot of people were panicking," said neighbor Addison Howe. "Very sad." A man who identified himself as the property owner said two adults died.

Firefighter grows Colorado's first 1-ton pumpkin, breaks own record
