The Wissota Firefighters Association and the Chippewa Fire District Station 3 in Lafayette usually host a pancake breakfast for fire prevention week in October. A fire that broke out on the exterior of a single-family home in Waukesha was quickly extinguished by firefighters on Oct.13, according to the Waukesha Fire Department.
The fire department said they responded to the call near Rock Street and White Rock Avenue around 5:20 p.m. They saw smoke and flames coming from the outside of the house when they arrived.

Around 7:20 a.m. Monday morning, a house fire was reported in Kalamazoo.
By the time fire crews were able to get to the scene at Washington Avenue and Race Street, they said the fire was fully involved.
Crews worked for 30 minutes to get the fire under control. Officials said they believe all occupants evacuated safely.

Milwaukee firefighters rescued six people, including four children, stuck in a house fire.
It happened just after 6:30 a.m. Saturday near 12th Street and Atkinson Avenue.
"Your house can be repaired, but I just thank God they made it out," James Clayton, stepfather of one of the residents, said.
The Milwaukee Fire Department tells WISN 12 News two adults, four children and a dog were all rescued from the house.

PHOTOS: The Madison Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Starr Grass Drive Friday afternoon.
Madison Fire PIO Cynthia Schuster said it was a structure fire reported at 3:48 p.m. at 8206 Starr Grass Drive where multiple callers reported seeing the roof on fire.
Schuster said firefighters could see black smoke seen from Raymond Road.

PHOTOS: Three mobile homes and six vehicles were damaged or destroyed in a fire early Saturday morning in Sparta.
Erv's Sparta Area Fire Protection District Fire Chief Mike Arnold said they were called at around 12:26 a.m. for the fire at Lot #64 at 100 Avon Road in Sparta.
Before they could arrive, he said they were told that the two mobile homes on either side were on fire along with multiple vehicles.

A fire broke out on a boat at Silver Lake Marina in Grapevine on Sunday, damaging or destroying at least nine other boats and leaving one person injured, fire officials say.
Fire investigators said a boat caught fire at about 1:15 p.m. when someone tried to start an engine. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire and said it's possible the fire was sparked by an electrical short or a fuel leak.
