In memory of Cpt. Max Bayer, a beloved 31-year-old Raymond firefighter who passed away in a motorcycle accident last week, Racine firefighters have launched a scholarship fund supporting his unborn child.
Cpt. Bayer was part of the Raymond Fire Department for 14 years and also worked with the City of Racine Fire Department during his tenure serving the community.

The Waupun Fire Department recently held an open house to celebrate its 150th Anniversary. Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says they got their own chance to learn about the history of the department by working with the city’s Historical Society. The Suamico Fire Department is seeing an uptick in false emergency calls from iPhones, and officials say it comes from the "crash detection" feature on newer devices.
14th generation and newer iPhones, along with 8th generation and newer Apple Watches, automatically call emergency services when it detects what it believes to be a crash.

Monday, just before 11:30 AM a resident at 3404 Hwy 28, just east of the village of Kewaskum said she heard a pop in the kitchen and found fire when she went to investigate. The woman, along with a child and an upstairs tenant were able to self extricate while the Kewaskum Fire Department was on the way.

A massive 3-alarm fire tore through a row of homes in Irvington, New Jersey, on Tuesday, displacing dozens of residents.

A fire that broke out on the exterior of a single-family home in Waukesha was quickly extinguished by firefighters on Oct.13, according to the Waukesha Fire Department.
The fire department said they responded to the call near Rock Street and White Rock Avenue around 5:20 p.m. They saw smoke and flames coming from the outside of the house when they arrived.

Around 7:20 a.m. Monday morning, a house fire was reported in Kalamazoo.
By the time fire crews were able to get to the scene at Washington Avenue and Race Street, they said the fire was fully involved.
Crews worked for 30 minutes to get the fire under control. Officials said they believe all occupants evacuated safely.

Milwaukee firefighters rescued six people, including four children, stuck in a house fire.
It happened just after 6:30 a.m. Saturday near 12th Street and Atkinson Avenue.
"Your house can be repaired, but I just thank God they made it out," James Clayton, stepfather of one of the residents, said.
The Milwaukee Fire Department tells WISN 12 News two adults, four children and a dog were all rescued from the house.

PHOTOS: Three mobile homes and six vehicles were damaged or destroyed in a fire early Saturday morning in Sparta.
Erv's Sparta Area Fire Protection District Fire Chief Mike Arnold said they were called at around 12:26 a.m. for the fire at Lot #64 at 100 Avon Road in Sparta.
Before they could arrive, he said they were told that the two mobile homes on either side were on fire along with multiple vehicles.

A fire broke out on a boat at Silver Lake Marina in Grapevine on Sunday, damaging or destroying at least nine other boats and leaving one person injured, fire officials say.
Fire investigators said a boat caught fire at about 1:15 p.m. when someone tried to start an engine. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire and said it's possible the fire was sparked by an electrical short or a fuel leak.
