Brass fire connectors are being targeted by thieves in some Philadelphia neighborhoods

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Important pieces of fire prevention equipment have once again become the target of thieves in some Philadelphia neighborhoods. Brass Fire Department Connections (FDC) are being stolen throughout Northern Liberties and Fishtown neighborhoods. Authorities suspect they are being sold for scrap, creating an expensive and potentially hazardous problem for home and business owners.

New Team USA baseball player is battling fires in Texas as her day job

More than 85 million Americans across 15 states -- from California to Florida -- are under heat alerts for Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The consecutive days of record-high temperatures combined with high overnight temperatures makes this heat wave especially threatening, as the longer it lasts, the more dangerous it becomes.

Walworth County: Summer camp for burned youth in Wisconsin gives survivors a place to connect, heal

VIDEO: Young burn survivors have a safe place to connect with each other and heal, both physically and emotionally. The Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation hosts the annual summer camp for burn injured youth every year at Camp Timber-less, just outside of East Troy. The free, week-long camp is fully back in person and helps campers navigate life beyond their injuries.

Deadly Beltline crash, tattoo fire likely linked, Madison police say

Fire department in Washington joins peer support program aimed at reducing stigma around mental health care

Tumwater Fire Chief Brian Hurley is joining a countywide mission to show it’s OK for firefighters, EMTs and other frontline workers to talk about their mental health. It’s being done through the Peer Support Program, a confidential opportunity to debrief with colleagues. None injured in fire at Madison business, MPD investigating possible connection to fatal Beltline crash

Nobody was injured in a fire at a business on Madison's southwest side Tuesday morning, Fire Department officials said. Crews were called to the 4200 block of West Beltline Highway, located just off of the Beltline near Seminole Highway, at around 6:30 a.m. Dane County dispatchers said flames and smoke could be seen from outside the building.

Wisconsin sees second-highest call volume increase to 988 lifeline year after launch

VIDEO/PHOTOS: It's officially been one year since the 988 lifeline was launched in Wisconsin. 988 replaced the 10-digit National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Since the launch, the number of Wisconsinites using the hotline increased significantly. Wisconsin has seen the second-highest increase in call volume nationwide since the launch of the new number, according to Wisconsin Department of Health Services Crisis Service Coordinator Caroline Crehan Neumann.

Alabama firefighter dies 5 days after on-duty shooting at fire station

New exhibit honors firefighters at Idaho train depot

VIDEO: Earlier this month, the Canyon County Historical Society unveiled a new exhibit highlighting Nampa's history with fire and the history of Nampa's Fire Department. The exhibit is in one of the city's oldest buildings, the Nampa Train Depot, celebrating its 120th birthday this July. Texas leads in firefighter suicides; Dallas Fire-Rescue's new mental wellness program already proving successful

FASNY sounds alarm as New York leads in fire deaths

Madison firefighters save Pomeranian stuck in a sofa

A little Pomeranian is back home and enjoying all the love his family can give him after a big fright on Saturday night. The tiny dog named Bear crawled under the couch that evening right as a motorized footrest was activated and began closing, the Madison Fire Dept. explained. Small bathroom fan fire escalates to building evacuation in Fond du Lac

A year out: How the Milwaukee Fire Department is preparing for the Republican National Convention

The MFD repair shop is a busy place on any given day. Add in a national convention, and things have become busier. The department has its own committee to prepare for the RNC.
