A recent house fire in the Capital Region added four more people to the state’s residential fire death toll for 2023. According to a press release from the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY), in 2017, 2018, and 2019, New York led the nation in fire deaths. The state is presently on track for the same mention in 2023.

No one is reported to be hurt after a car hit a home and a gas meter in La Crosse, causing a fire. A little Pomeranian is back home and enjoying all the love his family can give him after a big fright on Saturday night. Fond du Lac firefighters are reminding the public to call 911 if they have a fire in their home no matter how small after an apartment building fire. The Woodland Fire Department is investigating a structure fire that spread to five homes and an outbuilding on Saturday near Lincoln Avenue and Elm Street. It is still unknown what caused the fire but the department said that responders were able to contain it to the homes of origin and prevent the flames from spreading.
