The Fire Chief of the Stevens Point Fire Division was awarded for his efforts during a recent 911 cardiac arrest call. The call came from the Menards in Plover where it was reported that someone was suffering from heart complications. Ewing lives in Plover and heard the call. Even though it was his day off, he knew he had to do something.

VIDEO: Emond Johnson, who was charged with starting a fire that killed San Antonio firefighter Scott Deem in 2017, was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison on two charges. Johnson pleaded no contest in the 186th District Court to charges of murder and arson. PHOTOS: Cleanup is underway after a garbage truck caught fire because of a mechanical issue in Brown County on Tuesday. VIDEO: A man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed an EMT Wednesday night in Manhattan. Officials say 48-year-old Rudy Garcia was picked up at 94th Street and Amsterdam at around 8:50 p.m., after a call about cardiac arrest. The ambulance was on 59th Street when Garcia allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the EMT multiple times in the abdomen and leg, officials said.
