VIDEO: Woman rescued as firefighters battle large apartment fire in California

At least one person was rescued Wednesday as firefighters battled a large fire that spread to multiple apartment buildings in Hollywood. The fire broke out around 5:21 p.m. at a building on 7764 W Hollywood Blvd., just east of Fairfax Avenue. Investigators said two vehicles were spotted burning in a carport.

How one North Carolina fire department’s underwater drone is changing recovery searches

Firefighters respond to fatal house fire in Milwaukee

One person was found dead at the scene of a fire near 29th and Bobolink Tuesday night, July 11. It happened around 9 p.m. Fire officials said firefighters found heavy fire on the second floor of the two-story home. When they were searching the second floor, they found a 60-year-old Milwaukee man dead.

More than 100 firefighters helped fight barn fire in Rosholt

A barn caught fire Monday morning in Rosholt. It sparked a huge local response from firefighters, with more than 100 firefighters and 50 rigs showed up, as well as departments from all across the state when the five-alarm fire was issued. Chicago Fire Department fire truck flips on side in crash; 5 firefighters injured

VIDEO: A Chicago Fire Department firetruck flipped on its side after colliding with a car on the South Side Tuesday night. The crash occurred at about 11:25 p.m. in the 300-block of East 79th Street, police said. Police said a vehicle ran a red light and struck the firetruck, causing the fire truck to flip on its side.

Residents evacuated as homes slide down California hillside following ‘significant land movement’

PHOTOS: More than a dozen homes have been evacuated in Rolling Hills Estates, California, after the ground shifted, causing extensive damage, city and Los Angeles County officials said. Twelve homes were red-tagged as of Monday night, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said on Twitter. Sixteen residents had been displaced by that point, the department said.

Soldering equipment sparks Kiel house fire

Smoke was coming from the front windows when the Kiel Fire Department was dispatched to a house on E. Chicago St. Monday afternoon. Firefighters grabbed hose lines and found the room where the fire was burning. They had the fire out in 3 minutes of arriving shortly before 4:30. Everyone in the house was outside before the fire crews arrived, and no one was hurt, the fire department says.

AI Can Accurately Predict Potentially Fatal Cardiac Events in Firefighters

Instead, approximately 40% of on-duty fatalities come from sudden cardiac death. Now, researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and their colleagues have used a form of AI known as machine learning to accurately identify abnormal cardiac rhythms in firefighters.

VIDEO: Fire burns for 4 hours at medical supplies warehouse in California

A fire at a Paramount commercial building burned for four hours early Monday, but firefighters prevented flames from spreading to nearby businesses. The fire was reported around 12:30 a.m. in a 40,000-square-foot building in the 7500 block of East Rosecrans Avenue. Firefighters took up positions outside the burning building as flames shot through the roof and a large cloud of black smoke formed over the southern Los Angeles County community.

Tennessee fire department urging people to move over after 3 cars crashed into responding fire trucks this summer
