VIDEO: Boat bursts into flames at Florida marina

Authorities responded to a boat fire at a marina in Coconut Grove Friday night. Dispatchers with Miami Fire Rescue told Local 10 News that firefighters responded to the scene of a boat fire around 9:30 p.m. near the 2500 block of South Bay Shore Drive. “It took a little time to put extra sections of hose together, but we were able to set that up quickly and the combination of the fireboat and the crews that were on the marina were able to keep that fire from spreading,” said Cpt.

Man saved by iPhone technology after car plummets 400 feet over California cliff

Recently departed fire chief in Illinois was investigated for harassment

Prior to his sudden resignation last week, former Champaign fire Chief Gary Ludwig was investigated for harassment allegations made by his employees, largely involving “inappropriate statements about women or sexually explicit content.” According to documents obtained by The News-Gazette in a Freedom of Information Act request, City Manager Dorothy David conducted nine interviews between June 27 and July 5 with two victims/complainants and six witnesses concerning Ludwig, and interviewed Ludwig on July 6.

Increase in fires caused by arson in one Nevada city

Eau Claire firefighters practice special rescue scuba diving

EMT and Firefighter, Steve Voller shared what they did early Saturday morning. “This is the technical rescue team. We do training pretty regularly with different techniques. Today, we’re working on scuba and how to do a scuba search for a missing person,” Voller said.

Monona police and fire departments collaborate in active threat training

Stevens Point Fire Chief awarded by Plover Village

The Fire Chief of the Stevens Point Fire Division was awarded for his efforts during a recent 911 cardiac arrest call. The call came from the Menards in Plover where it was reported that someone was suffering from heart complications. Ewing lives in Plover and heard the call. Even though it was his day off, he knew he had to do something.

Follow-up: No cause found in May condo explosion in Madison, potential sources found

Explosions seen as large fire burns at propane business in Arizona

VIDEOS/PHOTOS: Phoenix Fire investigators are looking into a fire involving exploding propane tanks during the afternoon hours of July 20. The fire happened near 40th Street and Van Buren. According to Phoenix Fire officials, crews were called to the scene at around 5:00 p.m., and when they arrived at the scene, they found a large propane yard with five gallon propane tanks exploding over 500 yards in all directions.

Man accused of starting fire that killed Texas firefighter in 2017 sentenced to 30 years in plea agreement

VIDEO: Emond Johnson, who was charged with starting a fire that killed San Antonio firefighter Scott Deem in 2017, was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison on two charges. Johnson pleaded no contest in the 186th District Court to charges of murder and arson. The sentences will run concurrently and he will be credited for six years of time served in the Bexar County Jail.
