'Moussachusetts' welcomes you: Keep your eyes peeled for mice-sized storefronts, fire station in Boston

PHOTOS: Usually, looking up while walking around Boston is the way to go. But if you find your eyes turned to the ground in the coming days and weeks, be sure to keep an eye out for a handful of delightful mice-sized storefronts that have popped up around the city. AnonyMouse has so far revealed two Boston installations on Instagram — a bookstore and a fire station — but there are a handful more still out there, according to the group.

Firefighters save four dogs, but residents removed from home in Neenah house fire

Four people and six dogs are without a home due to a kitchen fire in Neenah that happened Tuesday. According to a release, around 5:00 p.m., the Neenah-Menasha Fire Department was sent to the 1200 Block of Honeysuckle Lane for reports of smoke showing at a single-family residence. After arriving on the scene, firefighters learned that of the six dogs, four of them were still inside the burning house with one of them being in a cage.

VIDEO: 3 Hospitalized After Plane Catches Fire Landing at Florida Airport

A plane carrying 126 people caught fire after landing at Miami International Airport Tuesday, leaving three people hospitalized with minor injuries. Red Air Flight 203 from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, had landed around 5:30 p.m. when the landing gear in the nose of the plane collapsed, Miami International Airport officials said.

'Smart Intersections' Gives Missouri EMS Automatic Green Lights

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service cancels in-person Spanish Fire School

An important event for first responders is scaling back this year. Texas A&M Extension Service (TEEX) announced their Spanish Fire School will no longer be happening in-person. The loss of this year’s Spanish Fire School is a disappointment for TEEX as well as tourism officials. The school not only provides valuable training to firefighters, but also brings big money to the area.

'I remember it like it was yesterday': Tropical Storm Agnes leaves impact on Pennsylvania county 50 years later

Bob Shank’s mother asked him to help run Shank’s Tavern in Marietta in 1968, which got him involved in the family business and Lancaster County’s oldest tavern established in 1814. La Crosse woman charged with arson for May house fire

A 23-year-old La Crosse woman facing arson and second-degree recklessly endangering safety charges appeared in court Tuesday. Brianna Lawrence allegedly started a fire May 3 at 1917 Prospect St. that caused an estimation of more than $70,000 in damage to the property, according to the criminal complaint.

Controlled burn gets out of control at River Valley Ranch mushroom farm

A controlled-burn of scrap materials at the River Valley Ranch mushroom farm, 39960 60th St., went wrong, catching plastic planting trays on fire an creating a smoke cloud large enough to be seen from Green Bay Road in Kenosha and from Lake Geneva in Walworth County Tuesday morning. Cheri Petkus, a manager at River Valley Ranch & Kitchens, which sits across Highway 50 from the farm, said she noticed the fire and called 911.

Central southern Ozaukee County fire department may be studied

A joint southern Ozaukee County fire and EMS department has already been created, and now a group of communities in the county’s central section will begin discussions about consolidating their operations. The communities that oversee the Grafton, Cedarburg, Saukville and Port Washington fire departments will all consider signing a memorandum of understanding in the coming weeks, with the villages of Grafton and Saukville and the city of Port Washington taking it up this week.

Five Fox Valley fire departments examine further collaboration and opportunity to 'go big'

Fire staff honored for rescue in October Stevens Point fire

Downtown Las Vegas sees largest occupied building fire in 25 years

Pennsylvania firefighter volunteers in Jerusalem

Gettysburg Fire Department Firefighter Doug Kahn recently packed up his gear and jetted off to Israel for a week as part of the Emergency Volunteer Project (EVP). EVP is a nonprofit rescue program whose mission is to be able to deploy aid and volunteers to Israel at a moment’s notice. Through a partnership with the Israeli government, EVP has trained thousands of volunteers across the United States and Israel.

‘Sight to behold’: Cross remains standing after fire at Texas church

A cross was all that remained of Balsora Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Texas, after a fire swept through the building Friday, leading to a response from a dozen area agencies. The Boonesville–Balsora Volunteer Fire Department described the church fire as a “devastating loss” to the community but noted that the cross was a “sight to behold.
