This year marks a significant milestone for De Pere Fire Rescue – celebrating 150 years of existence. What started in 1872 as the De Pere Fire Co., when it officially transitioned from a private organization to a city department, is now De Pere Fire Rescue – growing from two teams of 10 to nearly 50 full-time and part-time employees.

VIDEO: Arkansas Department of Transportation crews took over 24 hours to clear all lanes along I-30 westbound after a fiery, fatal, multi-vehicle crash happened on Wednesday. There were 20 vehicles involved in the accident, which also included eight semi trucks. The accident happened near mile marker 86 along I-30 westbound and it resulted in three fatalities.

Only a few short months since it was established, the Texas Emergency Communications Center, which serves as the 911 dispatch center for five volunteer fire departments in northern Harris County, has achieved a noteworthy milestone. Fox Valley Fire and EMS agencies announced a new collaboration approach to improve response within each area. The Wisconsin Policy Forum worked with Neenah-Menasha, Oshkosh, Kaukauna, Appleton and Grand Chute to set up this plane. It includes helping one another in five different areas: community risk reduction, fleet maintenance, quality control and oversight, special operations and training.

VIDEOS: Three young teens were arrested Wednesday evening for the ""suspicious" fires that destroyed three historic buildings in Morrow over the weekend. Members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department were caught in the line of fire during what they described as a deadly drive-by shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon on the Westside. According to Hawaii County officials, a tourism helicopter reportedly crashed in a lava field near South Point on Wednesday. K&S Helicopters who operates Paradise Helicopters said the incident happened at about 5:29 p.m. while their aircraft, a Bell 407, was operating a tour. A fire broke out at meat packing plant JBS Tuesday evening. The Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to 1330 Lime Kiln Road around 6:30 p.m. where they saw smoke. Upon arrival, firefighters noticed flames on the roof and smoke in the rendering area. Crews controlled the fire within 15 minutes.

Jaqueh Howell was sentenced Wednesday, June 1 for his role in the 2019 fire at Butterfly Park. Investigators say Howell and Trashun Campbell caused about $30,000 worth of damage to a playground at the park after setting it ablaze. They were both 17 years old at the time of the offense. Howell was sentenced to serve nine months in the House of Correction with credit for 278 days time served.
