A fire that started in a kitchen killed three pets Thursday night, De Pere Fire Rescue said Friday. At around 9 p.m. Thursday, dispatchers received a call about a fire at a home on Indy Court. First responders arrived within minutes and contained the fire to the kitchen, the fire department said. All of the residents of the house safely made it outside.

The Beaver Dam Fire Department was called to a school bus fire Thursday afternoon, May 26. The fire was reported behind a gas station near Crystal Lake Park just after 1 p.m. Before the fire department arrived, a Badger Bus employee tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher. A home in Jackson’s Belhaven neighborhood appears to be a total loss after a massive fire overnight. A firebug is wreaking havoc in south Sacramento, setting more than a dozen fires during the month of May near the same intersection. The city of Charleston is having trouble retaining employees, especially those outside of the police and fire departments.
