New EMS task force in Colorado launches to evaluate state standards for medical services and systems

The state launched a new Emergency Services task force bringing together experts from across Colorado to evaluate the current state of the EMS system and make recommendations for improvements. According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Emergency Services Division, it's the first system review in over two decades.

Milwaukee pursuit ends in crash; vehicle catches fire, 2 arrested

Milwaukee police were involved in a vehicle pursuit that occurred on Monday, Aug. 22 near 26th Street and Capitol Drive. It happened at approximately 2:42 a.m. According to police, officers observed a reckless vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued.

Heavy Fire Damage Done To Co-op In Lancaster

Authorities in southwestern Wisconsin say heavy fire damage was done to the Premier Co-op in Lancaster Saturday morning. Firefighters from at least three departments, plus police and EMS, were called to the scene just after 4:30 a.m. No injuries were reported. The building was said to be “fully involved” as fire crews arrived on the scene.

1 dead after diesel tanker involved in fiery crash on Arkansas highway

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A tanker truck carrying diesel fuel went up in flames, closing part of I-40 near Forrest City, Arkansas for hours Monday afternoon. Eight tractor trailers, three pickup trucks, and two passenger cars were involved in the crash around 3:15 p.m., according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT).

Iowa woman gifts retired fire captain father quilt full of fire department shirts with help from TikTok

VIDEO: An Indianola woman gave her father a dream gift for his birthday. Alli Marois put out a call on TikTok earlier this year for fire department shirts from all 50 states - and she got a response of more than 170 shirts. Marois and her mother designed a quilt with all of the shirts. They even found a quilt maker in Pleasant Hill to do it for free, just in time for Marois' father's birthday this past Saturday.

A day before her third birthday, LaToya Eskridge took a nap at her grandmother's house in Milwaukee after an afternoon of playtime with her sister and cousin. Brown Deer apartment fire displaces about 100, ‘frustrating, upsetting’

Work began Sunday, Aug. 21 at the River Place Apartments in Brown Deer after a fire Saturday left about 100 displaced. Renters were allowed back in for a short time on Sunday. For so many, the fire brought what really matters into perspective. The renters from 40 units said Sunday they're not sure if or when they'll be able to move back in, but they said they're grateful for what they do have.

Explosion after explosion: Massive fire at Massachusetts boat yard destroys buildings, cars, boats

'I call them family': Georgia fire department helps teen fight for his dream

2 Sheboygan house fires in 3 minutes; 7 displaced, 1 injured

Sheboygan fire crews were called to the scene of two different house fires in a matter of three minutes early Sunday morning. The first happened around 12:37 a.m. near 14th Street and New York Avenue. Crews arrived on the scene in two minutes to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the second-story window with three people trapped on the second-story porch.

Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue Department addresses mental health

Even veteran first responders struggle with their mental health throughout their careers. To address the issue, the Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue Department is developing new initiatives to address mental health in their team.
