VIDEO: The American Red Cross is assisting 11 families after a devastating overnight inferno left nearly 40 Newark residents without a place to sleep. Firefighters rushed to Clifton Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday for a fire that appeared to start in an abandoned building on the block. Eventually the flames spread to two neighboring homes and required a 3-alarm response from fire crews, who were still putting water on the structures well after the sun came up.

Pennsylvania 9/11 first responder needs your help to get a new heart

You may not know the name Terry Shaffer, but we’ll always remember what he and his crew did when Flight 93 crashed on Sept. 11, 2001. Terry, now 66 years old, was the Shanksville Fire Chief on that fateful day in American history. Along with the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department, Terry was one of the first responders at the scene after Flight 93’s impact.

Kentucky firefighters could appear in upcoming feature film

Some Kentucky firefighters showed off their acting chops this summer during the filming of a movie in Louisville. The Zoneton Fire Protection District posted on Facebook saying they were "sworn to secrecy" until now and that many of their firefighters will likely appear in the upcoming film, "The Muzzle," as background actors.

NASCAR driver salutes fallen South Carolina officer, firefighter

The race car displayed Barr’s name written right above the window. Barr lost his life April 24 while working as a Cayce police officer.

VIDEO: Auto parts store in Ohio catches fire, collapses

FOX 8 Video shows a Cleveland auto parts store on fire and collapsing. More than a dozen crews were called to the scene at the Clark Auto Parts at West 46th Street and Clark Avenue around 3:20 a.m. on Friday. At one point more than 50 firefighters were on hand. Officials said the fire seems to have started on the service and machine shop side of the auto parts store.

Amazon took all U.S. solar rooftops offline last year after flurry of fires, electrical explosions

On the afternoon of April 14, 2020, dozens of firefighters arrived at an Amazon warehouse in Fresno, California, as thick plumes of smoke poured from the roof of the 880,000-square-foot warehouse. Some 220 solar panels and other equipment at the facility, known as FAT1, were damaged by the three-alarm fire, which was caused by “an undetermined electrical event within the solar system mounted on top of the roof,” Leland Wilding, Fresno’s fire investigator, wrote in an incident report.

House explodes in New Hampshire; no injuries reported

VIDEO: A smoking frame is all that's left of a house in Brookline after firefighters said it exploded Wednesday afternoon. Crews from about 14 fire departments worked to put out the flames at 7 Gilson Road after the house was fully engulfed in flames after the explosion. Officials said a family of four lived in the home, but no one was inside when the explosion occurred.

911 callers in one Colorado county can now share videos with responders in real time

Christopher Cawdrey was eating lunch at his remote home in far northern Larimer County when he noticed smoke coming over the hill in the direction of his neighbor’s house. Once outside, he could see the house was on fire and quickly called 911. The dispatcher asked his location and other critical questions, then asked if would be willing to livestream video from his cellphone of what he was seeing.
