Wisconsin volunteers aid in wildfire recovery in New Mexico

Following record-breaking wildfires throughout New Mexico this summer, Wisconsin volunteers responded to help repair the damages, according to the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs (DMA). DMA said Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) teams went to New Mexico after the state Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management put out a call for assistance in recovering from the fires.

Milwaukee man wanted; homicide, fire near 83rd and Vienna

A Milwaukee man has been charged in connection to a homicide and house fire that happened on the city's north side Aug. 25. A warrant is out for his arrest. Prosecutors accuse 47-year-old Ernest Terrell Blakney of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend before setting his home on fire near 83rd and Vienna.

Report of 'child on log' leads to search at Lake Michigan in Port Washington

Recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day in Milwaukee

Massachusetts home considered a ‘total loss’ after fire rips through roof, causing partial collapse

VIDEO: At least eight people are without a home after a large fire burned through a multi-family house in Lynn on Tuesday. Crews were called to the home on Allerton Street sometime after 5 p.m., where footage from Sky7 showed large sections of the multi-story building’s roof engulfed in flames. Los Angeles County takes step to ensure crash photos are never leaked again, following Kobe Bryant incident

The 2020 helicopter crash in the hills of Calabasas that took the lives of NBA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna; Sarah and Payton Chester; Keri, John and Alyssa Altobelli; Christina Mauser, and pilot Ara Zobayan sent shock waves across the world. Polaris issues 'stop ride/sale' order on 230,000 snowmobiles due to fire issue

Fire personnel referendum in Richfield not happening

A referendum planned for ballots in Richfield to increase taxes, in order to hire five additional full-time firefighters in the Richfield Volunteer Fire Company, has been nixed due to potential unionization of the department creating unknown potential costs there. The Richfield Village Board met Thursday evening, and received information from the Richfield Volunteer Fire Company Board of Directors about the possible unionization of the RVFC.

Appleton Boy Scouts receive Heroes Award for aiding after Amtrak crash

Man dies in Rusk County ATV crash

A man is dead after an ATV crash on Monday in Rusk County. According to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, Jay Holcomb of Bruce was pronounced dead at Marshfield Medical Center in Rice Lake after being pinned under his ATV. First responders found Holcomb and his ATV near County Highway H and Sentinal Ash Road about five miles north of Bruce at 8:45 p.

Chippewa Falls school district holds forum at high school focused on crisis situation response

VIDEO: Fire destroys apartments under construction in Texas, slows traffic on interstate

Fire destroyed apartments that were under construction in Rockwall County Tuesday morning. Six multi-level units caught fire near the southwest corner of Interstate 30 and FM 551 in Fate around 5:30 a.m. The flames could be seen from miles away and quickly consumed the partially complete structures.

Indiana firefighters show artistic talents with unique American flags

Suspect steals ambulance in San Francisco, tries to run down 2 paramedics, authorities say

Two paramedics with the San Francisco Fire Department had their ambulance attacked by a man they claim randomly approached them. As of now, SFFD does not know of any motive behind this attack. "From what it sounds like this was just random," said Tim Finch, one of the directors with San Francisco Fire Union 798.
