Wisconsin fire deaths trending high in 2022

Wisconsin home fire deaths are trending high in 2022, with 33 people killed this year so far – including one death in Marshfield. In 2021, this is especially heartbreaking because there were only 40 civilian home fire deaths in Wisconsin in 2021, and that was down from 52 in 2020. “The trend is continuing in that direction and we definitely want to prevent it in our community,” said Everett Mueller, Marshfield’s Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention and Area 9 Chairperson for WSFIA.

Fire Destroys Home, Garage In Sheboygan

Multiple fire departments responded to a fire at 7th and Michigan in The City of Sheboygan Monday afternoon. The fire was reported around 5pm, and one person was inside the home at the time. The victim reported hearing an explosion, then seeing an orange ball of light, and quickly escaped from the second floor as the fire spread from the garage to the rear of the building, and then engulfed both structures.

A fire at a chemical plant in Madison Village caused massive fireballs to shoot into the air Monday night. The fire took place at ChemMasters located at 300 Edwards Street. New York City Housing Authority proposes new policy that would ban e-bikes, lithium-ion batteries from buildings

Legislation to help first responders and educators buy homes has rare bipartisan support

Health First is 1st in Florida to offer whole blood on air ambulances

Frisbie family creates memorial to benefit Bellevue's District 3 Fire Station

The Bellevue Fire Department accepted a donation from the Frisbie family at a small ceremony on Friday, Aug. 12. "This donation was made in honor of the late Ron Frisbie and was presented to members of the Bellevue Fire Department and the Bellevue Public Safety Foundation by Ron’s wife Jan and his daughter Anne and son John," Phil Davidson, the City of Bellevue's community relations coordinator, said in a Facebook post.

Two dogs perish in Chilton house fire

A family was removed from their home and two dogs died after a house fire in Chilton on Sunday afternoon. According to the Chilton Fire Department, just after 2 p.m., crews responded to a house fire in the 300 block of East Brooklyn Street. At the time of the initial call, officials said the home was reported as being occupied, however, when crews searched the home no one was found inside the residence.
