Firemen or Firefighter? A Push For The Latter is Making Waves This Week in Maryland

With the Maryland State Firemen's Association Convention in town, a possible name change is looming. Some feel a simple change to 'Firefighter' would be more inclusive for women. The MSFA said this is not the first time they have heard this proposal and that a name change is 100% on the table this year.

Governor visits Chippewa Falls fire station, praises shared revenue bill

Tony Evers made a stop at Chippewa Falls Fire Station No. 1 on Tuesday after signing a revenue bill that morning which, Evers said, will boost state funding across its cities, counties, villages and towns by at least 20 percent and add $1 billion in funding for public schools under a historic revenue agreement.

Green Bay Metro Fire Department adds two new rigs to its fleet

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department has two new fire trucks in its fleet. Of the two trucks, one will go to Station No. 3 in Green Bay, and the other will go to Station No. 8 in Allouez. The new rigs are replacing two older trucks. Battalion Chief Ray Fuiten said the older rigs are being placed in its reserve fleet.

Video shows another look at Missouri warehouse days after massive fire

New video from NewsChopper 9 shows what's left of a warehouse following a four-alarm fire last week. It took nearly 24 hours for Kansas City firefighters to get the fire at Pioneer Pallet under control. Three firefighters were hospitalized with injuries and nearly 200 were needed to combat it. Flames shot up more than 100-feet in the air at the peak of the fire.

Amputee firefighter in Massachusetts back on the job after motorcycle crash nearly killed him

New software allows 911 callers to livestream video to police and fire dispatchers in one Ohio city

Dry conditions lead to high fire danger in Coulee Region

Construction worker injured and in critical condition after incident at Green Bay's Lambeau Field

VIDEO: Police and fire crews were rushing to the north side of the stadium at around 10 a.m. on June 15, 2023. Officials told our reporter Emily Reilly at the scene that the injured worker had to be freed after he became trapped in the construction area of the stadium. First responders only needed seven minutes to get the man out, according to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department.
