New video from NewsChopper 9 shows what's left of a warehouse following a four-alarm fire last week. It took nearly 24 hours for Kansas City firefighters to get the fire at Pioneer Pallet under control. Three firefighters were hospitalized with injuries and nearly 200 were needed to combat it. Flames shot up more than 100-feet in the air at the peak of the fire.

Recent weather has created the right conditions for brush fires. A fire in a field started in the Town of Farmington on Thursday after wind picked up a spark that was not properly extinguished. Firefighters battled a heavy fire that tore through the roof of a commercial building in downtown Los Angeles. Madison Fire Department credited an automatic sprinkler with saving the day when the garbage area of a Madison West Side apartment building caught fire. MFD said this shows why sprinklers are an important safety device in people’s homes. The fire, at the 600 block of Sand Pearl Lane, marks the eighth “sprinkler save” in Madison this year, MFD says.

Video of a cement tanker engulfed in flames near U.S. 75 in Richardson showed the vehicle explode. The cement tanker was near the intersection of East Collins Boulevard and North Glennville Road. Driving home from class, he was one of the first to stop at the scene of a car accident where he found four seriously injured teenagers.
