After being closed to traffic for 12 days, the damaged section of Interstate 95 through Philadelphia reopened Friday. A tanker truck fire beneath the interstate on June 11 caused one bridge to collapse and left another heavily damaged. Federal, state, and local entities combined to push for reopening the stretch of the interstate as quickly as possible by backfilling the area which had collapsed.

One person had to be treated for burns suffered during an industrial fire at the Vollrath Company overnight. The Sheboygan County Dispatch Center got the 911 call at around 1:40 this morning, sending responders to the business on North 18th Street where a piece of equipment had caught fire. Sheboygan firefighters put out the fire, and one person was taken from the scene to be treated.

Green Bay law enforcement officials will have patrols out now until the Fourth of July to make sure people aren’t using illegal fireworks. Hundreds of safe e-bike and scooter charging and storage stations will soon be installed across New York City’s public housing buildings as a way to prevent battery fires. Mayor Eric Adams, Sen. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday warned of the return of locally acquired cases of malaria, meaning the infections were not linked to foreign travel and appear to have been transmitted by mosquitoes in the U.S. carrying the parasite. A wildfire burned almost 10 acres near a business in Door County over the weekend. Firefighters were called to the Settlement Inn and Lavender Spa in Gibraltar on Saturday. When crews got there, they saw a fire in a field, about one acre large, threatening nearby buildings. Flames were extending in multiple directions.

The middle section of the Promenade at Fountain Court in Monroe County is now just twisted metal, charred wood and debris. Multiple businesses were lost. Federal regulators want first responders to know exactly what they are dealing with before reaching the scene of a train derailment, because the dangerous chemicals trains carry might require a specialized response. A home is considered a total loss, estimated to be $900,000 after a fire on Saturday morning.
