VIDEO: Fire damages South Carolina home

PHOTOS: Multiple agencies responded Tuesday night to a structure fire on James Island. According to Charleston County Dispatch, the fire was on the 1900 block of Wild Wing Lane. Witness photos and video showed flames engulfing a raised home, with the fire threatening to spread to nearby cars, homes, and trees.

Tulsa firefighters union supports medical marijuana for firefighters

VIDEO: Tulsa firefighters should have the ability to use medicinal marijuana to relieve pain and other job-related stress, says Tulsa Firefighters Local 176 Union President Matt Lay. "Originally, it was brought to us by a lot of service members that talked about being able to move away from schedule 2 narcotics and a litany of prescriptions they were on, using cannabis-based products," Lay said.

VIDEO: 1 dead, 2 injured after car flips off ramp in Washington, D.C., police say

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a deadly car crash on Interstate 395 in Southwest D.C. on Sunday. At approximately 7:45 p.m., a Hyundai Elantra was traveling south in the Ninth Street tunnel, police said. The driver of the car began to take the westbound ramp and struck the jersey wall twice for reasons unknown, causing the car to crash over the wall and onto the southbound I-395 below.

Firefighters battle multiple grass, marsh fires at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary

Sheboygan Falls fire; garage fully engulfed, spread to main residence

Firefighters on Tuesday, June 6 responded to the scene of a fire on Meadowlark Road south of County Road J in Sheboygan Falls. The call came in around 2:13 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies found the garage was fully engulfed and spreading the northwest side of the residence. The fire spread to the main residence, causing severe damage.

Matt Jaggar sworn in as fire chief in Eau Claire

In Eau Claire, there's a new chief in town. Matt Jaggar was officially sworn in as the fire chief at a ceremony tonight. Jaggar says the ceremony was emotional and he was touched by the support of the staff and community members. He has served as a firefighter for nearly 25 years now. Jaggar says he's inspired by the chiefs before him and hopes to continue their mission.

Los Angeles Fire Department station struck by vehicle

Agencies break ground on first-responder housing project in Idaho

Firefighters more likely to die by suicide than on duty; Yoga helps recruits in Nevada handle stress

The City of Las Vegas’s Fire & Rescue is working toward addressing firefighter suicide rates and mental health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance report firefighters are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty. Las Vegas Fire and Rescue’s behavioral health administrator, Jeff Dill, said the national suicide rate for firefighters has increased.

Multiple fire departments respond to Black Earth blaze

Firefighters from at least five Dane Co. departments responded early Monday afternoon after a fire erupted in Black Earth, authorities confirmed. According to Dane Co. dispatch, the box alarm fire was reported shortly before 1 p.m. at 4927 Eissfeldt Road, just off Sutcliffe Road. Officials determined that an office building on the site is a total loss, but the main residence and a barn on the same property were unharmed.

Five people without a home as a fire in Green Bay causes $750,000 in damage

Five people in Green Bay are now without a home after a fire Sunday night on Green Bay’s west side. In a release, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department says it was dispatched around 6:15 p.m. to a home at 3033 Sonoran Drive for reports of a garage fire. Upon arrival, crews found a 3-stall garage on fire with heavy flames coming out and extending into the home.
