VIDEO: On this day in 1996, one of the country’s worst-ever distillery fires began. At the Heaven Hill warehouses in Bardstown, Kentucky, a fire started in the afternoon on Nov. 7 that eventually destroyed nearly 100,000 barrels of bourbon.

VIDEO: Two teenage girls are being recognized for their quick thinking after escaping a house fire in Fond du Lac. They were home alone early Monday morning and used a ladder to make it out from a second-story window before running to a neighbor to call for help.
Fond du Lac firefighters arrived on the scene at 130 West Division Street just after two teenage girls used a ladder to escape from their bedroom window and ran to wake up a neighbor across the street.

PHOTOS: Newly released body camera videos show the emergency response to an explosion at a homeless encampment outside Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The explosion and subsequent fire happened on the morning of July 21 after witnesses in the encampment reported finding what they believed were improvised explosive devices around a tent where drug users were smoking fentanyl.

Firefighters battled an equipment fire at a manufacturer of transformers in Waukesha early Sunday, Nov. 5.
Emergency crews were dispatched to Prolec-GE on S. Prairie Avenue around 1:40 a.m. Sunday for a reported fire alarm sounding.
