State-of-the-art swift water training facility for emergency responders opens in North Carolina

VIDEO: Fayetteville Tech Community College opened a state-of-the-art swift water rescue training facility. Officials said the facility will help expand job opportunities in the area. The new facility on Tom Starling Road is the only swift water rescue training facility on the East Coast. It will help teach countless trainees how to save lives.

Man arrested after fire truck stolen from inside Arkansas firehouse, found outside his home

VIDEO: On Nov. 11, firefighters in Benton County discovered a Dodge brush fire truck from inside the firehouse on E. Highway 94 in Monte Ne had been stolen. Later that morning, the Benton County Sheriff's Office found the truck in Springdale outside the home of the man who allegedly stole it and drove home the night before.

City in California testing out new emergency alert system

VIDEO: The City of Coronado is testing out a new emergency alert system. Coronado already has sirens positioned around the island, but the technology on the sirens is old. They’re unable to broadcast messages to go along with the siren. On Tuesday, the Coronado Fire Department tested out a new system, which has the capability of doing both.

Madison firefighters knock down fire at eastside office

Crews knock down large fire on Madison's east side, no injuries reported

New solar array takes Superior Fire Department off the grid

PHOTOS: Mayor Jim Paine had the honor of throwing the switch to take Superior Fire Department headquarters off the grid. The city’s first municipal solar array system, located on the roofs of the fire hall and an outbuilding at 3326 Tower Ave., was commissioned Thursday, Nov. 9. Construction of the solar array that will generate about 171,000 kilowatt-hours per year started in September.

New logo reflects history of Connecticut fire company and town

Fire rescue in Colorado goes through first-of-its-kind de-escalation training

VIDEO: Aurora Fire Rescue crew members are completing de-escalation training to help crew members respond to people experiencing a crisis. Despite paramedics regularly responding to these types of calls, de-escalation training is pretty rare within fire departments. “I’ve been doing this for 34 years and it’s nothing we’ve ever formally done, and it seems like the right time and place to bring this to life,” said Aurora Fire Rescue’s training chief, Commander Mark Hays.

Fire at Milwaukee restaurant leads to extensive damage

A fire broke out at Shark's Fish and Chicken, located near 60th and Villard in Milwaukee, causing significant damage to the building, according to the Milwaukee Fire Dept. MFD tells CBS 58 that they responded early Monday to the fire, which initially began inside the restaurant. Officials also note that the structure might not be salvageable due to the extent of the damage.

Fire at Cambridge Apartments in Milwaukee; 1 in critical condition

Ashwaubenon restaurant expected to be closed for a while after fire

PHOTOS: A day after providing free meals to Veterans, an Ashwaubenon restaurant is now expected to be closed for a while after a fire Sunday afternoon. Ashwaubenon Public Safety says the fire started outside Mission BBQ on Oneida Street. The fire made its way through the restaurant wall and into the ceiling area, which caused crews to knock out chunks of the ceiling.

Multiple people injured in crash in Slinger

PHOTOS: On November 12, 2023 at 3:38 p.m., Slinger Fire Department and Lifestar EMS were dispatched to the area of STH 60 at I-41, for a multi-vehicle injury crash. Dispatch advised there were several patients and at least one required extrication from their vehicle. Additional ambulances responded to the scene.

VIDEO: Freeway closed in downtown Los Angeles after massive fire at storage yard; state of emergency declared

Gavin Newsom proclaimed a State of Emergency in Los Angeles County Saturday night to help facilitate cleanup and repairs after a massive storage yard fire shut down a portion of the 10 Freeway in both directions. ‘It feels like I was right next to him’: Son hears fallen FDNY dad’s heartbeat after organ donation

Thursday night, his widow, two young children and parents got to hear that heart again in the chest of the man who received it. Moon died after falling 20 feet during a training exercise in Brooklyn in December 2022. His wife Kristina Moon transferred him to LiveOnNY’s Donor Care Unit at NYU Langone Health.

Small plane collides into car while making emergency landing in Texas

Tennessee firefighter races cars in his spare time

Ryan Griffin thinks he may be just a little bit of an adrenaline junkie.
