The Middle Inlet Fire Department were gifted a 1993 Pierce fire truck from Ashwaubenon firefighter Russ Van Rite. Van Rite purchased the truck for $7,500 when the Ashwaubenon Fire Department decided to retire the vehicle.

The previous schedule had firefighters working 24 hour shifts, before having 48 hours off. The new schedule has firefighters work 48 hours straight, before having 96 hours off. A 500-gallon underground propane tank was found at a Virginia home that exploded Friday, killing one firefighter and injuring others, officials said Saturday. The Madison Fire Department and its Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) responded to 4822 Madison Yards Way for a high-angle rescue. The operator of the telehandler was attempting to dump a load of snow over the side of the parking ramp, from the uppermost level, when the equipment tipped off-balance and flipped over side of the ramp.

The Beaver Dam Fire Department says a firefighter who was hospitalized after an airboat crash during ice rescue training earlier this week is now out of the hospital.
