VIDEO: A Northwoods fire crew received a friendly gift from a fellow firefighter in Ashwaubenon.
The Middle Inlet Fire Department were gifted a 1993 Pierce fire truck from Ashwaubenon firefighter Russ Van Rite. Van Rite purchased the truck for $7,500 when the Ashwaubenon Fire Department decided to retire the vehicle.

The longtime resident first spotted the fire around 1:55 p.m. Tuesday in the now-burned down cabin, located within the Waldheim Park church-owned community. Smoke could be seen for miles but luckily the flames didn't spread in this mostly seasonal community of 82 cabins covering 40 acres along South Mountain.

VIDEO: Firefighters who work for Decatur Fire and Rescue have operated on different schedule since early 2024. The previous schedule had firefighters working 24 hour shifts, before having 48 hours off. The new schedule has firefighters work 48 hours straight, before having 96 hours off.
Decatur Fire Deputy Chief Nathan Springer said the move was requested by firefighters in 2023, and has already improved fire operation since.

Approximately 15.5 million Toshiba laptop AC adapters have been recalled by Dynabook Americas due to fire and burn hazards, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to the commission, the recalled adapters can overheat and spark, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers.
The recalled AC adapters were sold both on their own and with Toshiba brand personal laptop computers.

A 500-gallon underground propane tank was found at a Virginia home that exploded Friday, killing one firefighter and injuring others, officials said Saturday.
Loudoun County Fire and Rescue were called to the home in Sterling around 7:40 p.m. for a gas leak, Chief Keith Johnson said at a news conference.

VIDEO: The City of Tampa unveiled eight new vehicles on Monday as part of a multi-million dollar investment in fire safety.
“We’ve been waiting for quite some time and it really is a milestone,” Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said.

A fire on the second floor of an apartment in Fitchburg was contained by firefighters Monday.
No injuries were reported.
Spokesperson Kimberly Miller said firefighters were called to 1910 Greenway Cross at about 1:54 p.m.
The first arriving fire personnel reported alarms sounding and confirmed visible smoke on the second floor.

Madison firefighters responded to a mulch fire early Sunday morning at an apartment building on the city's west side.
According to a press release, it happened at 17 Coronado Court. People who live in the building say there had been a fire about 45 minutes prior in the location where the mulch meets the building.

The Cedarburg Fire Department will host a movie event at the Rivoli Theatre Saturday, March 9 to educate residents about its referendum that will be on the spring ballot.

The Madison Fire Department and its Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) responded to 4822 Madison Yards Way for a high-angle rescue. The operator of the telehandler was attempting to dump a load of snow over the side of the parking ramp, from the uppermost level, when the equipment tipped off-balance and flipped over side of the ramp.

The Beaver Dam Fire Department says a firefighter who was hospitalized after an airboat crash during ice rescue training earlier this week is now out of the hospital.
In an update posted Thursday, department officials say the firefighter was able to return home on Wednesday, but there is no timetable for his return to duty as of now.
