Shed fire in Montrose results in $75K in damages

PHOTO: A fire in the Town of Montrose resulted in about $75,000 in damages Wednesday morning, a Belleville Fire Department spokesperson said. Belleville crews were called to the area near County Highway A and Severson Road just before 9 a.m. A 911 caller said that a shed housing lawnmowers and tools had caught fire.

Firefighters rushing to Arlington Avenue around 2 a.m. Friday found heavy smoke and flames shooting from the top floor. Bristol, Warren and Providence firefighters are on scene and still working to put out hot spots.

4 Texas firefighters injured in roof collapse, highlighting concerns about the way new homes are built

VIDEO: On Monday evening, Austin firefighters responded to a fire burning from a two-story home on Camperdown Elm Drive in South Austin. While firefighters were battling the flames, the roof of the home collapsed on four of them. "Luckily, our firefighters were able to get themselves out of this instance but that's not always the case, unfortunately, across America," said Rachael Lewis, the Austin Fire Department Operations PIO.

Lil Jamaica food truck in Green Bay considered a total loss after fire

VIDEO: A local restaurant is recovering after its food truck caught fire on Tuesday night in the city of Green Bay. Lil Jamaica, known for serving Jamaican food, says their food truck was destroyed by a fire last night. Local 5 News was on the scene and observed several firefighters working to make things safe.

Teens, including a young cancer patient, help shovel out fire hydrants in Richland Center

VIDEO: Teens from a boys home are dedicating helping shovel out fire hydrants in Richland Center each week. One of the teens is a young cancer patient. When a Richland Center firefighter posted on Facebook about the need to clear out fire hydrants, Forward Home for Boys jumped into action. The teens are dedicating two hours a week to clearing the snow off over 400 hydrants.

Bill in Wisconsin would allow 17-year-olds to provide emergency medical services

Seventeen-year-olds would be able to provide emergency medical services as part of ambulance crews under a bill proposed by GOP lawmakers in the Wisconsin Assembly. Fond du Lac firefighters battle house fire, no one hurt

VIDEO: Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded to a house fire Tuesday morning on Tompkins St. A photo shared on social media showed flames coming through a front window and door and heavy smoke billowing from the roof and upper-story windows of the home on the 300 block of Tompkins. The fire department said crews got a call around 9:12 a.

VIDEO: Man dies after running back inside burning California home

A man died after he ran back inside a burning home in Mission Hills early Wednesday morning. The fire started inside a one-story duplex located at 10803 N. Noble Ave. and Chatsworth Street, near the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway, around 3 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. All four residents made it out of the burning home safely, before a man in his 70s ran back inside to try and grab some of his personal belongings.
