PHOTOS: A fire in Suamico on Tuesday morning caused around $130,000 in damages due to a mechanical issue.
According to the Suamico Fire Department, at around 11:45 a.m., firefighters were sent to the 12000 block of Velp Avenue in the village of Suamico, and after arriving on the scene, crews found two detached garages with smoke and flames showing.

Illinois labor officials are issuing a series of statewide recommendations to improve firefighter safety following a two-year investigation into the death of a Chicago firefighter.
Mashawn Plummer, 30, was critically injured the morning of Dec. 16, 2021, while battling an apartment building fire. Just six months after graduating from the Chicago Fire Academy, Plummer died five days after the fire.

VIDEO: Two people suffered injuries when a fire broke out at an apartment on Madison's east side Saturday morning.
