Two people escaped a house fire in the town of Albion Monday morning, according to the Lakeside Fire-Rescue chief.
Chief Randall Pickering told 27 News a passerby saw the fire on the 1400-block of County Highway A, just north of Edgerton, and called 911 shortly after 7 a.m.
Pickering said a father and son were home when the fire started.

A house under renovation caught fire Monday night in Fishers, leaving crews scrambling to control the blaze before it spread to nearby homes.
Crews from the Fishers Fire Department were dispatched to the Breakwater subdivision off Brooks School Road around 10:45 p.m. after a resident across Geist spotted heavy flames and called 911.

The call came in between 5:00 and 5:30 Friday morning. Rick Walters is the Town of Texas fire chief and said the barn was fully engulfed in flames upon the arrival of firefighters.
Around 12:30 in the afternoon, there was still smoke billowing from the barn as well as some small remaining flames, but Walters said the fire had been contained and that there was no concern of it spreading.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced that fire management crews are starting to perform prescribed burns on DNR properties throughout the state where local conditions can provide a safe and effective burn.
DNR crews will be burning cattail marshes, wetlands, prairies and oak/pine barrens to clear the buildup of dead vegetation and to open waterways for waterfowl to feed and nest.

Families were forced out of their homes after a massive fire broke out early Friday morning in DeKalb County.
DeKalb Fire crews responded just after 4 a.m. They say flames ripped through three homes on the 1000 block of Lenox Park Boulevard NE in Brookhaven. Officials say these are large homes that are very close together.
