Green Bay firefighter sent to hospital after costly structure fire

VIDEO: One Green Bay firefighter was sent to a nearby hospital with an injury after battling a costly structure fire on Monday morning. According to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, firefighters were sent to the 1100 block of Klaus Street in the city of Green Bay shortly after 10:00 a.m. for a possible structure fire.

Dane County Dispatch reports fire at Cottage Grove home under construction

VIDEO: Firefighters reported to the Village of Cottage Grove Thursday afternoon of a report of a fire at a house under construction. According to Dane County Dispatch, they received a report of a fire at the 2000 block of Damascus Trail around 1:05 p.m. In a statement released Thursday night by Cottage Grove Fire, numerous callers allegedly reported that the house was fully engulfed.

Cedarburg Fire Department to host movie event

The Cedarburg Fire Department will host a movie event at the Rivoli Theatre Saturday, March 9 to educate residents about its referendum that will be on the spring ballot. The event will be free to the public from noon to 2:30 p.m. The movie playing will be "Odd Hours, No Pay, Cool Hat," a documentary film that depicts the challenges facing volunteer fire departments across the country.

Operator Uninjured After Heavy Equipment Tips Over Side of Parking Ramp in Madison

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The operator of a telescopic handler used to plow snow is uninjured after the heavy equipment tipped over the side of a parking ramp. The Madison Fire Department and its Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) responded to 4822 Madison Yards Way for a high-angle rescue. The operator of the telehandler was attempting to dump a load of snow over the side of the parking ramp, from the uppermost level, when the equipment tipped off-balance and flipped over side of the ramp.

Update: Beaver Dam firefighter released from hospital after training exercise crash

The Beaver Dam Fire Department says a firefighter who was hospitalized after an airboat crash during ice rescue training earlier this week is now out of the hospital. In an update posted Thursday, department officials say the firefighter was able to return home on Wednesday, but there is no timetable for his return to duty as of now.

Four cats perish in La Crosse duplex fire caused by stove top that was left on

No people are hurt but four cats are killed in a fire at a duplex on the south side of La Crosse Tuesday afternoon. Battalion Chief Blane Neher said the call came in at around 1:40 p.m. for a fire at 919 Redfield Street. Heavy smoke was coming from the one half of the duplex when crews arrived. Because of the fire, the resident who lived next door was evacuated.

Man and woman rescued from ice near Stockbridge

A man and a woman became trapped on the ice on the east side of Lake Winnebago Wednesday morning. Stockbridge Fire Chief Mike Funk says a call to rescuers came at 8:53 a.m. Funk said the Stockbridge Fire & Rescue and Town of Calumet Fire Department responded and rescued them shortly after 10 a.m. without deploying any boats.

100,000 gallons of water used on rural Dunn County house fire

While crews were on their way to the scene on County Road O, more calls came in stating the house was also on fire.

Fire damages American Legion Post in Lake Tomahawk

PHOTO: A fire in the basement of American Legion Post 318 left fire, smoke and water damage to the building, Lake Tomahawk's Fire Chief said. Chief Billy Kuckkahn said the call for the fire came in at 12:46 Tuesday afternoon. The Post is close to the fire department, so Kuckkahn said the response was swift, and they were able to put the fire out fast.

Fire crews respond to residential fire in Vernon County

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Fire departments on Tuesday morning responded to a residential fire in Vernon County. The call came in around 3:30 a.m. for a house fire that spread to the garage in La Farge. When crews arrived on scene, both structures were almost fully engulfed in flames. According to La Farge Assistant Fire Chief Troy Deaver, Viola Fire Department provided mutual aid.
