Fire danger is high across Wisconsin, the state Department of Natural Resources warns. Northeast Wisconsin hasn’t seen several inches of snow depth since Jan. 31. A raging fire at a northwestern Minnesota grain elevator kept crews from at least 17 different departments busy overnight, closing area schools Monday and triggering a request for residents to refrain from using water. The former Rock Island Livestock Auction Barn had multiple buildings burn to the ground on Saturday, Feb. 24, but crews were able to save 22 cows and millions of dollars worth of surrounding homes and businesses.
