Special Weather Statement issued March 12 at 3:37AM CDT by NWS Green Bay WI

Weather Alerts -

Recent dry conditions, warming temperatures, increasing southwest to west winds and low relative humidity will result in elevated fire weather conditions across north-central, northeast and central Wisconsin this afternoon. The main concern will be in grassy areas. Persons are urged to be careful with any activities that could potentially lead to a wildland fire. Campfires, outdoor grills, smoking materials, chain saws, and all-terrain vehicles all have the potential to throw a spark and ignite a wildfire. Debris burning is the number one cause of wildfires in Wisconsin. Contact the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to check on any burning restrictions that may be in place in your area.
