Richfield Volunteer Fire Company to become municipal department

The Richfield Volunteer Fire Company (RVFC), after 125 years of service, has voted to dissolve its current nonprofit organizational status and transition to a municipal fire department, 25-1. Village President John Jeffords said there are still a few steps left in the process, but the transition is coming and will be undertaken in the least disruptive way possible.

VIDEO: Troopers assist fire crews by battling flames in New York

Pennies help boost fire, police services in two California cities

Florida governor signs law creating new penalties for exposing first responders to fentanyl

Drug users and dealers who recklessly expose first responders to fentanyl and cause them to overdose will now face additional penalties thanks to a new law signed by Governor Ron DeSantis Monday. Body camera footage from August of last year, captured a Flagler County Sheriff’s Deputy suffering a suspected fentanyl overdose after handling narcotics that later tested positive for the substance.

Small town of Silver Cliff breaks ground on fire station nearly two years since tornado

Governor Evers signs law prohibiting the sale of unsafe lighters

VIDEOS: Fire burns through under construction neighborhood in Phoenix

Rare fire truck once used by Minnesota fire department found in New Mexico

A collector from New Mexico posted on Facebook last week that he bought an old fire truck and, after tracing some of its history, discovered it belonged to Bloomington beginning in the 1950s. Solar eclipse: Researchers warn about increased risk of deadly crashes during spectacle

Green Bay apartment fire displaces eight

Two people rescued from inside burning duplex on Milwaukee's northwest side

The Milwaukee Fire Department says they rescued two people from a burning duplex on the city's northwest side Tuesday night. According to Milwaukee Fire, the fire broke out a little before 10 p.m., and crews initially received calls for help for one person trapped inside the home. When crews arrived, they found two people were trapped inside the burning building.

VIDEO: Crews battle fire at vacant Minnesota apartment building

Minneapolis crews are battling a fire at a vacant apartment building early Thursday morning. The fire started just before midnight at the corner of Fifth Avenue South and 19th Street, just south of downtown. Firefighters say flames were burning from the top floor of the boarded-up building.
