Volkswagen to recall 261,000 cars to fix pump problem that can let fuel leak and increase fire risk

Volkswagen is recalling more than 261,000 cars in the U.S. to fix a potential fuel leak that can increase the risk of fires. The recall covers certain Audi A3s and VW Golfs and GTIs from the 2015 through 2020 model years. Also included are 2015 through 2019 Golf Sportwagens, and 2019 and 2020 VW Jettas.

Green Bay Metro Fire Foundation excited to benefit from Give BIG Green Bay

VIDEO: The Green Bay Metro Fire Foundation is one of 50 non-profit groups to benefit from this year's Give BIG Green Bay fundraiser. The fire chief says the money will pay for a number of things the foundation needs, and he's excited to find out how much they'll be getting. VIDEO: Firefighter collapses while battling fire at New Hampshire farmhouse

A firefighter was taken to the hospital after suffering a medical issue while fighting a house fire Wednesday. First responders performed CPR on him before he was rushed to the hospital. Neighbors say they saw flames coming from the second floor of an old farmhouse on Scotland Road in Kingston, but the entire home turned into a fireball within minutes.

AT&T customers report a massive outage, disrupting phone service across America

AT&T’s network went down for many of its customers across the United States Thursday morning, leaving customers unable to place calls, text or access the internet. By late morning, the company said most of its network had been restored. Although Verizon and T-Mobile customers reported some network outages, too, they appeared far less widespread.

Fire Rescue in Florida releases hour-long video showing firefighters battling apartment complex fire

Fire Museum in Central Ohio Showcases History of Local Firefighters

PHOTOS: Located in the former Columbus Engine House No.16, the building was completed in 1908 and was built as the last engine house in the city to accommodate horse-drawn steam engines. The station closed in 1982 and after twenty years of fundraising and a $900,000 renovation, the museum moved into the building and opened to the public in 2002.

Overwhelming majority of Portage voters pass EMS referendum

VIDEO: The people of Portage overwhelmingly chose to have their fire department take over EMS. Results show the referendum passed easily. More than 72% of people who voted said yes. That's 1,076 people. The nays only took in about 28% of the vote with 420 people. "Everybody's been doing their part to do the best thing we can for the citizens," Portage Fire Chief Troy Haase said.

Middle Inlet Fire Department gets truck donation from Ashwaubenon firefighter

VIDEO: A Northwoods fire crew received a friendly gift from a fellow firefighter in Ashwaubenon. The Middle Inlet Fire Department were gifted a 1993 Pierce fire truck from Ashwaubenon firefighter Russ Van Rite. Van Rite purchased the truck for $7,500 when the Ashwaubenon Fire Department decided to retire the vehicle.

Alabama firefighters: New schedule change improving fire operation

VIDEO: Firefighters who work for Decatur Fire and Rescue have operated on different schedule since early 2024. The previous schedule had firefighters working 24 hour shifts, before having 48 hours off. The new schedule has firefighters work 48 hours straight, before having 96 hours off. Decatur Fire Deputy Chief Nathan Springer said the move was requested by firefighters in 2023, and has already improved fire operation since.

Texas brewery releases 'Great Fire' beer to commemorate 1911 fire

Millions of Toshiba laptop adapters recalled for fire and burn hazards

Approximately 15.5 million Toshiba laptop AC adapters have been recalled by Dynabook Americas due to fire and burn hazards, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. According to the commission, the recalled adapters can overheat and spark, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers. The recalled AC adapters were sold both on their own and with Toshiba brand personal laptop computers.

Winds to blame for controlled burn getting out of hand at Ixonia

Antique Toy & Firehouse Museum in Michigan to Unveil Restored Facade

Fitchburg firefighters contain apartment fire, residents displaced

A fire on the second floor of an apartment in Fitchburg was contained by firefighters Monday. No injuries were reported. Spokesperson Kimberly Miller said firefighters were called to 1910 Greenway Cross at about 1:54 p.m. The first arriving fire personnel reported alarms sounding and confirmed visible smoke on the second floor.

Mulch fire on Madison's west side linked to improperly discarded cigarette

Madison firefighters responded to a mulch fire early Sunday morning at an apartment building on the city's west side. According to a press release, it happened at 17 Coronado Court. People who live in the building say there had been a fire about 45 minutes prior in the location where the mulch meets the building.
