PHOTOS: Authorities in Brown County say that a house is inhabitable after an early morning fire caused around $150,000 in damages.
Crews were sent to the 2200 block of Pinecrest Road in the village of Suamico around 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday for a report of a two-story farmhouse on fire with heavy smoke and flames in the basement.

Investigators are still working to get into a Philadelphia-area home as at least six members of a family remain unaccounted for after officers responding the prior afternoon to a report a child had been shot there were struck by gunfire and the home set ablaze, a district attorney said.
Authorities “have reason to believe” a relative who shot at the officers from the East Lansdowne home is among as many as eight people unaccounted for, Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said in a Wednesday news conference and an interview with CNN affiliate KYW-TV.

Two shooting victims - a male and a female - were rushed to the hospital after they hit a Birmingham fire station while they were seeking help.
One of the victims, the male, was pronounced a short time later at UAB Hospital.
In what police called a “chaotic scene,” the ordeal began about 6:40 p.m. when gunfire erupted at the Shell station on the corner of Old Springville Road and Brewster Road.

A Grant County grand jury has indicted U.S. Forest Service burn boss Ricky Snodgrass on a Class A misdemeanor count of reckless burning.
Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley arrested Snodgrass on Oct. 19, 2022, while the fire he was supervising was still burning. It is believed to be the first time a Forest Service firefighter has been arrested in the course of doing their job.

A failed light fixture caused a fire at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living Center in Waupun. Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says his department was called to the facility just before 7pm Monday.
While en route, crews learned that a Waupun police officer used an extinguisher to put out a ceiling light that had been burning.

The operators of Lutsen Resort say their historic lodge is a total loss after burning to the ground. The Cook County Sheriff's Office confirms that staff members called 911 just after 12:30 a.m. reporting smoke coming from the floor in the lobby of the lodge.

Bob Beckwith, the former New York City firefighter who famously stood alongside President George W. Bush atop a charred fire truck in the rubble of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, has died, according to the union representing New York firefighters and former US Rep. Peter King. He was 91.
The cause of Beckwith’s death was not immediately released.

VIDEO: Police are investigating what led to a Fort Worth fire truck losing control and flipping over.
