A new bill proposed by State Representative Daniel Pae (R-Lawton) would void costs of medical screenings for Oklahoma firefighters. House Bill 3573 was named "Fighting Chance for Firefighters Act." One person is dead following a tanker crash on SR-8 in Northfield Center Township that left a nearby creek contaminated with diesel fuel. Summit County Inspector Bill Holland says at around 9:15 a.m., the tanker truck was traveling northbound on SR-8 tried to get on I-271, when it lost control and went over the side of the bridge.

PHOTO: The Cedarburg Fire Department welcomes their newest members, 13 volunteers, who joined the department in 2023. Several completed courses during the 2023 fall semester at MATC, sponsored by CFD. Five completed the Firefighter 1 course to earn their certification. Melissa (Missy) Demczak successfully took two courses, Firefighter 1 and EMT Basic during the fall semester, which is quite an accomplishment, according to a CFD announcement.
