After more than six months without it, two northern Wisconsin towns are hoping to once again offer ambulance service to residents.
The towns of Gordon, Shanagolden and Marengo lost ambulance service in January after their former provider notified six towns last summer that it would not renew their contracts to provide emergency services.

VIDEO: Houston firefighters responded to large fires at two apartment complexes on the southwest side late Thursday.
A citizen was burned and two firefighters were treated for medical issues, HFD Chief Samuel Peña later said.
One fire was reported at 11675 W Bellfort after 10 p.m.
The good news there, no one was seriously hurt, but 30 to 40 people are now homeless because of it.

Mark Monson's life changed forever while walking his dog near the Savage Fire Department 26 years ago. Monson started chatting with some of the volunteer firefighters who encouraged him to apply.

Hundreds of first responders who have responded to the site of the Surfside condo collapse will be able to stay onboard a cruise ship, Royal Caribbean's CEO says.
According to Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean, Explorer of the Seas arrived Thursday at PortMiami to serve as a place to stay for first responders.

New Orleans Firefighters are always there when the alarm goes off, and now the NOFD has an emergency themselves, and that’s their pay, which currently starts at around $11.29 an hour.

PHOTOS: A 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid sedan caught fire Tuesday night in Haverford, Pennsylvania, while the owner was at the wheel, according to Charles McGarvey, chief fire officer for the Lower Merion Township Fire Department.
Tesla began deliveries of the Model S Plaid, a new high-performance version of its flagship electric sedan, in June, after CEO Elon Musk had said on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that they would begin in February.

Firefighters were on the scene for 15 hours as fire destroyed a hay shed and all of its contents in Chilton.
The Chilton Fire Department says Calumet County deputies arrived first to the call at 11:30 Wednesday night and found the shed at Highway 151 and Townhall Road fully involved.
It eventually became a four-alarm fire, mostly for tenders.

Highway 151 has reopened to traffic near the scene of a large barn fire in Calumet County.
The road was closed between Salm Road and Minahan Road west of Chilton for about seven hours Thursday morning. It reopened to traffic at about 8:30 a.m.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office says firefighters are still working at the scene and urge drivers to use caution in the area.

Seventeen people were injured Wednesday evening after a planned police detonation of seized illegal fireworks ended in an explosion in South Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Police Department truck explosion occurred at about 7:40 p.m. at East 27th and San Pedro streets. Nine LAPD officers and one Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives officer was taken to nearby hospitals, along with six civilians.

Firefighters contained damage to a machine at an Appleton plant Wednesday morning.
At 3:30 a.m., the Appleton Fire Department was called to a fire at a facility in the 2600 block of W. Second St. They didn’t name the facility, but Pellet America is located on that block.
Firefighters arrived to find a large amount of smoke coming from an overhead door.

Emergency crews responded to Warner Park on Monday after a vehicle hit a propane tank, causing it to spew hazardous vapors into the air.
Firefighters were first dispatched to the Warner Park Boat Launch shortly after 2:15 p.m. to help at the scene. When they arrived, crews smelled propane in the air and saw pressurized white vapor spewing from the 1000-gallon tank.

VIDEO: Firefighters battled high temperatures as they fought to extinguish a large, seven-alarm house fire in Revere Tuesday evening.
Crews were called to the scene on Hyde Street where smoke and flames could be seen pouring out of the top of the home. The back side of the structure was charred.
