Economic decline is fueling a surge of building fires in California town, top firefighter says

General Motors Warns Some Bolt Owners To Park Outdoors Due To Fire Risk

General Motors is telling owners of some older Chevrolet Bolts to park them outdoors and not to charge them overnight because two of the electric cars caught fire after recall repairs were made. The company said Wednesday that the request covers 2017 through 2019 Bolts that were part of a group that was recalled earlier due to fires in the batteries.

Extension cord causes brief electrical fire in Madison home

An extension cord sparked a brief electrical fire inside a Madison residence Tuesday afternoon. Officials were sent to a home on the 1800 block of South Thompson Drive at around 2:15 p.m. According to an incident report, a resident said an electrical outlet in their house “began to arc, caught fire and then self-extinguished.

Driver killed in Platteville following crash between car, semi

One person is dead following a crash in Grant County on Tuesday morning. Officers responded to the intersection of Business Highway 151 and Commercial Drive at around 10:15 a.m. for a report of an accident involving a semi truck and car. A Facebook post from Platteville police said the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering significant injuries in the crash.

1 dead after plane crashes into California home, sparks brush fire

VIDEO: At least one person is dead after a twin-engine plane crashed into a home near the Monterey Regional Airport Tuesday morning. According to KION-TV, officials confirmed crews found one deceased individual still inside the plane. Efforts underway to restore historic Iowa fire station

VIDEO: A defunct fire station could soon be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Art Deco style Engine House 2 on South Federal Avenue was completed in 1939, at a cost of $34,520, part of which was funded through a Public Works Administration grant. Upon completion until it was closed in 1973, the fire house provided round the clock service to the then rapidly expanding area south of Downtown.

Kenosha unrest, arson: 4 indicted for 2020 crimes

A federal grand jury has indicted four men, in two separate cases, for various offenses committed during the unrest in Kenosha in August 2020, a U.S. Department of Justice news release indicted Tuesday, July 13. In the first case, Allen King, David Garner and Kevin Martinez are charged with conspiring to steal controlled substances and transport stolen goods in interstate commerce.

Kansasville Fire, always in need of new volunteers, looks to get kids interested in firefighting

Chicago firefighter Chris King will debut in Funny Car at Mile-High Nationals

Tennessee firefighter's workouts lifting people up on TikTok

While he's been inspiring others in the gym for years, he's now reaching more people on the app TikTok. Videos of his workouts have gone viral.
