A man suspected of being a serial arsonist was arrested in Mound House while in the process of starting another fire.
According to the Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS), 29-year-old Kevin Critor from Dayton was arrested on June 21 in the area of Cash Drive and Carry Way in Mound House. In addition to the intentionally set fires, Critor was tied to multiple fire station burglaries across Washoe, Douglas and Lyon counties, according to DPS.

Fire officials are investigating after a structure fire on Madison’s east side left one home significantly damaged and two others with heat damage.
Firefighters responded around 5 p.m. to the 2500 block of East Dayton Street for a report of a structure fire. While on their way, crews spotted black smoke coming from the area when they were still several blocks from the house.

The Belgium Fire Department said they are still on scene of a large barn fire that started Tuesday night, June 23.
Officials say the fire broke out at 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
Crews still have a few more hours of clean up before wrapping it up.
Officials say no firefighters or property owners were injured.

Several residents were displaced when a fire burned their apartment building in Merrill Tuesday.
It happened around 5 p.m. Firefighters were called to the scene at the Park City apartments and saw flames and heavy smoke.
There were no injuries, and they were able to get everyone safely out of the building.

A bill aimed at providing grants to communities affected by "forever chemical" contamination would take away the ability for cities and towns to pursue legal action against the companies or other entities that created the pollution.
The bill, approved in an Assembly floor vote Tuesday, was authored by Elijah Behnke, R-Oconto, and would create a $10 million grant program for the 2021-23 biennium for communities struggling with PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.

TC Energy is partnering with the Fond du Lac Fire Department to host four separate pipeline safety trainings for both local first responders and public officials.

VIDEO: About four seconds was the difference between life and death on May 31 when an unconscious man awoke to Manatee County medical first responders trying to help him and pulled out a loaded gun.
“I had no choice but to go for the gun,” said Manatee County Paramedic Carlos Santos.
Santos’ quick reaction, along with his partner, EMT Joe Savasta, and nearby sheriff’s deputies, prevented what could have been a tragic day.

For the past few years, Officer Saunier has been restoring old fire trucks for children who undergo difficult situations, with some of those fire trucks being over fifty years old.

The American LaFrance was the first "new" truck used by Waverly Fire in 1921.
After the truck retired service it was sold to Redfield, Iowa, who then later sold it to Dale Miracle. After that, it stayed with a family in Indianola for sixty years.

A man died Saturday after he fell into the Wisconsin River while fishing, Richland County authorities said.
Officials said they got a call shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday reporting a potential drowning in the river near the Gotham Boat Landing. Witnesses told dispatchers they saw the man fall into river before the current pulled him under.
