The Racine Fire Department responded to the area of Mt. Pleasant Street and William Street early Sunday morning, July 25 for an apartment fire. The call came in around 6:45 a.m.
The fire was called in by a Racine firefighter driving from Racine Fire Station 3 to Racine Fire Station 2 at shift change.

Firefighters say no one was injured during the early morning hours Saturday when a fire broke out at a duplex in Brillion.
According to the Brillion Fire Department, crews were called to the 400 block of Pagel Avenue at 12:34 a.m. for a report of a fire.
When they arrived, officials say light smoke could be seen coming from the living room of the residence into the garage area.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating an explosion and house fire that happened in Barton near West Bend on Friday, July 23.
Officials were notified of the incident at a single family residence near Norman and Jeanellen around 8:18 p.m. Friday night.
"At approximately 8:21 p.m. last night we got dispatched for the report of an explosion.

Two Madison residents were taken to a hospital following a small kitchen fire on the north side Friday morning.
Firefighters were dispatched to an apartment complex on the 2400 block of Monterrey Drive at around 9:10 a.m. after reports of smoke that was seen coming from one of the units. The crew entered the unit and found smoke and small flames on the kitchen’s stovetop.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a barn fire near Yellowstone Trail and Watercress Rd in the town of Addison Thursday.
Washington County Dispatch Center received multiple calls that the barn on the property was fully engulfed in flames.
The barn was unoccupied and used as a storage barn on the property.

Area firefighters and state leaders visited CVTC Thursday to learn about the extinguishing agent used by the Eau Claire Fire Department in light of a statewide effort to do away with PFAS from firefighter foam.
For years, firefighting foam containing PFAS was used by fire departments around the state, but now can only be used in emergencies.

The Kingsport Fire Department responded to reports of a fire on the 1000 block of Dorothy Street early Friday morning. Responders arrived to the scene at 12:05 a.m., where they discovered a home engulfed in flames.
The home was a total loss, according to officials. No injuries were reported, and the department continues to investigate the cause of the fire.

In the last six weeks, the Virginia Beach Fire Department added two identical vehicles, called rescue companies, to its fleet. The vehicles are designed to respond to fire entrapments, vehicle entrapments, water rescues and building collapses, among other emergencies.

Ben Andersen on Tuesday was appointed deputy fire chief for the Somers Fire and Rescue Department, effective Aug. 1, and is poised to take over for Chief Carson Wilkinson when Wilkinson retires this fall, pending the village Fire Commission’s approval in September. Alabama firefighters are trying to change a new state law, which they said causes safety concerns in Alabama’s schools.
As written, HB 220, which passed in the 2021 legislative session, removes state oversight of K-12 school construction projects of $500,000 or less.
It gives that responsibility to the school systems.

Robeson County paramedics and residents can feel a little safer Wednesday, the day some county EMS personnel donned body cameras in an effort to protect paramedics from assault and to provide the best care to patients.
Wednesday marks the start of a 14-day testing and evaluation phase for six body cameras being incorporated into patient care, said Nestor Rivera, Robeson County EMS Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement specialist and paramedic.

VIDEO: There was an intense underground rescue near St. Louis nearly 200 feet down at a wastewater tunnel construction site.
One worker was injured.
The site is part of the four-mile MSD Deer Creek project that stretches from Lemay through Shrewsbury to Clayton.
The site was closed Wednesday after the accident, which was very scary for the injured worker and others who were trapped, plus two Shrewsbury firefighter/paramedics who went down to get most of them out.

According to the Freedom Fire Department, crews were called to a house fire on the N2500 block of Maloney Road in the Town of Freedom at about 9 a.m. The home’s location is west of Wrightstown and north of Highway 41.
