PHOTOS: A fire left a popular diner in northern Wisconsin a ‘total loss’, and authorities are still working to find out the cause. According to the Rhinelander Fire Department, on March 28 around 6 p.m., crews responded to a report of smoke coming from R&T’s Dinky Diner. Dramatic video captured the moment two Orange County firefighters narrowly escaped getting crushed by a flaming storefront that suddenly collapsed. More than 40 firefighters responded to a blaze at a strip mall in the 12500 block of Valley View Street in Garden Grove just after 8:40 p.m. Thursday. At least one local fire department received reimbursement from Norfolk Southern for damages and losses suffered in the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. Gov. No injuries were reported after a two-alarm fire in Milwaukee Thursday afternoon, March 30. Fire officials said firefighters found heavy fire on the second floor of the building near 7th and Burleigh around 2 p.m. "We kept the fire contained to one building. A 6-year-old and a 4-year-old were seriously injured Wednesday after Iowa Co. officials said they fell 20 and 80 feet, respectively, from a cliff. Iowa Co. officials said they received an emergency call around 2:15 p.m. for two kids that had fallen from a cliff near Bluff Point Trail in Governor Dodge State Park.

Fire crews battled a blaze at an apartment building early Thursday morning on Detroit’s west side. A large, vacant apartment building caught fire in a residential neighborhood in the area of I-94 and Livernois on March 30. History was made in Connecticut Wednesday as state leaders and neighbors gathered in Hartford to celebrate Shelly Carter, the first Black female fire chief to serve any fire department in all of New England. “The goal is not about me. VIDEOS: An early morning train derailment has caused residents of a small town in Kandiyohi County to evacuate on Thursday. In a statement, BNSF Railway said approximately 22 cars derailed around 1 a.m. Some of the derailed cars were carrying ethanol and corn syrup and started on fire, the sheriff's office said.
