Fire officials have issued a warning about electric vehicles and electric modifications at your home. A total of three Mountain View Fire Rescue firefighters were inside the garage when water made contact with the electric vehicle’s battery, officials said, causing that explosion.

Onalaska Fire Chief Troy Gudie will retire after 34 years, the City of Onalaska announced Monday. Gudie started as a volunteer in 1989 before being hired on full-time in 1993. He eventually served 17 years as the Assistant Chief and was promoted to Fire Chief in 2020. Gudie says two accomplishments that stand out over the years were the implementation of a local high school Fire and EMS Academy with Western Technical College and reaching an agreement to provide fire services for the entire Town of Onalaska.
