It is called Fit To Thrive and is designed to get those in the firefighting industry be more active, more often so they can experience the benefits of regular exercise. Fond du Lac County is making use of new, clever technology to get first responders to the right location. The technology, called “what3words,” converts numeric GPS coordinates into words. The words are then decoded by first responders using the what3words app in the field. An arson investigation is underway after a raging inferno tore through a mechanic shop in Miami on Friday morning. The kitchen of a nursing home on Madison’s east side is shut down after a stovetop fire, the city’s fire department explained Wednesday.
