The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is calling a Cottage Grove home a total loss after a fire on Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters from multiple agencies and Dane Co. deputies responded around 2:25 p.m. to the 4700 block of County Road N after multiple people told officials they saw a fire coming from the home.

Crews in downtown Los Angeles are battling a massive structure fire Tuesday that's already collapsed the building's roof.
The fire broke out just after 1 p.m. at a building in the 300 block of E. 4th Street. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the building is approximately three stories, with a basement.

The South Milwaukee Fire Dept. has initiated a "Fire Safety for Seniors" program.
According to a press release on Tuesday, Sept. 12, the program aims to provide senior citizens with free, lighter-weight fire extinguishers. The initiative was launched in response to a kitchen fire involving an elderly resident who had difficulty using a standard fire extinguisher.

VIDEO: Police are searching for a possible serial arsonist in Reseda after at least six fires were reported in the area overnight.
Most of the fires took place around the Reseda Boulevard and Vanowen Street intersection. The first was reported shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, and the rest happened within the following two hours.

The robot’s name is CLARI, which stands for Compliant Legged Articulated Robotic Insect. It was built in the image of a bug. It’s tiny, squishable and can shape-shift to fit through different gaps.

VIDEO: A pickup truck crashed into a house in Outagamie County early Monday morning.
The Buchanan Fire Department was dispatched for a report of an explosion at 4:30 a.m. When firefighters found the scene on County Road Z they found the driver of the pickup truck unresponsive. They started life-saving efforts but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

VIDEO: The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a large apartment fire this morning on Milwaukee's south side.
Firefighters responded to a building at 21st Street and Mitchell Avenue for a two-alarm fire. Residents told 12 News the fire started around 3:00 a.m.
Residents said they all got out of the apartment and were safe, and the Red Cross arrived at the scene to assist the resident.

A house on West Elm Street in the City of Oneida was destroyed early Saturday morning by an explosion caused by a stolen vehicle crashing into the home.
There were no injuries to homeowners, neighbors or emergency crews. Oneida Mayor Helen Acker posted on Facebook “there were no fatalities.” Police say the crash, which happened around 3:00am, severed the gas line into the house.

The new Ladder 1 vehicle has been named “Purple Rain” and is painted in the purple-and-gold colors of Hattiesburg High School.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A skateboarding event in Hollywood turned hostile and violent Saturday night when a crowd began setting fire to property and at least one vehicle.
The skateboarding competition started around 4:30 p.m. on the 1600 block of Cherokee Avenue and became violent around 7:22 p.m. when the crowd began acting up, police said.
