Crews fight fire at Bellevue catering business

Three fire departments were called to fight a fire at a catering business in Bellevue on Monday. They were dispatched at 2:45 p.m. Monday to Biebel’s, 1234 Bellevue Street, where firefighters found light smoke coming from a utility/wash room. Crews found the fire in a bin of towels. They removed the towels from the building and put out the flames in the parking lot.

Mom gets child unbuckled before car goes up in flames, Madison officials say

A mom was able to get her child unbuckled from the back seat of their car Sunday morning before it went up in flames on Northport Drive, according to a release. The woman was driving a 2008 Chrysler 300 with a man down Northport Drive just before noon when they heard some crackling coming from the trunk of the car, officials said.

Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire station plans advance

The proposed new fire and ambulance station in Brussels was a topic for discussion this week in Sturgeon Bay and the Town of Union. At Tuesday's meeting of the Door County Board, the 19 Supervisors present approved a resolution spelling out a “land lease and construction agreement for (a) south ambulance station” to be located on County C, near the intersection with Wisconsin 57.

The feed, pulled from an online archive system and posted on YouTube, gives voice to more than 28 minutes of emergency response by Wilmington Fire Department members as they worked to free firefighters trapped in the basement of a Canby Park rowhome.

San Francisco fire chief slams harassment of female firefighter

Florida fire chief imposter calls Labor Department

An inspector with the U.S. Department of Labor came to the Keys to investigate the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department after receiving several calls from someone falsely claiming to be the chief. The Labor staffer showed up at the mile marker 99 fire station on Sept. 14 asking to see payroll information, Chief Don Bock said this week.

Nebraska town considers banning smoking in apartments

Dog dies in Juneau apartment fire

One dog perished in an apartment fire in Juneau on Sunday afternoon. Firefighters were dispatched at 4:30 p.m. to 214 N. Main Street for a fire in the upper apartment of a duplex. According to Juneau Fire Chief Curtis Ninmann the fire was contained to the apartment and only the room and contents of the apartment were destroyed.

Eau Claire firefighters pull two females from Chippewa River

Two females were pulled from the Chippewa River by Eau Claire fire department personnel Saturday. The fire department received a report at 4:44 p.m. of two females nearly in the middle of the river behind the city shops at 910 Forest St. The department launched two boats and a firefighter in a cold-water rescue suit entered the water.

Wisconsin, Iowa face flood threat with swollen rivers

VIDEO: It's a tense waiting game for people facing flood threats from swollen rivers and creeks in parts of Iowa and Wisconsin. Flooding already claimed two lives this week in western Wisconsin's Vernon County. One man was killed Thursday after a mudslide destroyed his home. A second man died Thursday while trying to drive through floodwaters near his home, the station reported.

Granton Fire Department saves man from flooding waters

VIDEO: Members of the Granton Fire Department pulled a man out of more than six feet of flooding water Wednesday night. The Granton Fire Chief said the man's vehicle was swept off the road after he drove through a closed road that was covered in water. The driver eventually got out of his vehicle and was taken away by the strong current.

Tunnel to Towers run big success in West Salem
