PHOTOS: A barn fire in Calumet County Thursday left one person and dozens of cattle suffering from smoke inhalation.
At 9:21 a.m., the Chilton Fire Department responded to a barn fire in the town of Charlestown at N3035 Irish Road.
When crews arrived, they observed smoke coming from all sides of the barn, with flames on the south end where the upper portion was full of hay.

VIDEO: Firefighters battled a large apartment fire Wednesday in Wauwatosa.
It started Wednesday around 4 p.m. at a two-story, 12-unit apartment building in the 9600 block of West Hampton Avenue. Smoke from the fire could be seen a mile away.
Milwaukee's assistant fire chief expects four units on the west side of the building to be impacted.

Firefighters responded to a rowhome fire in Northeast Philadelphia on Thursday morning.
The fire started at about 8 a.m. at a home on the 6300 block of Cardiff Street.
When crews arrived, heavy smoke was pouring out of the two-story home and flames were seen at the back of the house.
Initial calls were that someone was trapped inside the home, so firefighters made entry on the second floor.

VIDEO: Three major structure fire responses in just four days got support from the Colorado Springs Fire Department’s new Special Operations Division.
The support from the division formed back in August is visuals and infrared images from drones.

VIDEO: With the help of helpful local residents, three people were pulled from a sailboat in distress close to the shore in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, firefighters said.

Kenosha's Police and Fire Commission has chosen Deputy Chief Dan Tilton as Kenosha's next fire chief. The 27-year veteran is set to replace Kenosha Fire Chief Christopher Bigley this spring.
Bigley is retiring on April 1, 2024.

A second leak in the heating and cooling system in as many school days resulted in the brief evacuation of Neenah High School.
According to a note to parents, the refrigerant leak was from the same unit that caused Friday’s evacuation. As happened on Friday, the leak triggered the building’s fire alarm.

Arson investigators are looking into the cause of a massive fire that tore through a home in Point Loma early Tuesday, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Deputy Chief Brian Raines.
Both San Diego Fire and San Diego Police were alerted to the fire at about 5:30 a.m. by a call reporting a burglary and a fire at the home on Liggett Drive just north of Point Loma Park.

The D.C. Council unanimously passed emergency legislation Tuesday that could help solve an ongoing staffing shortage at the 911 call center.
The bill, which had nine cosponsors, allows retired firefighters and police officers to work as call takers and dispatchers without losing any pay from their pensions.

Authorities say a fire that started Sunday night in the basement of an Appleton home caused an estimated $125,000 worth of damage.
