VIDEO: Two Appleton families are left without a home after a duplex fire Thursday. Earlier while I was at the scene, I talked to one of the families. They didn't want to talk about what happened on camera, but here’s what they told me.

PHOTOS: A plane making a forced landing on Interstate 26 in North Carolina Thursday night caught fire and snarled traffic for hours. Several News 13 viewers have called the newsroom, reporting a crash. And video showed the aircraft on fire.
Asheville fire officials confirmed the forced landing. According to the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office, multiple people were taken to the hospital.

PHOTOS: The Evanston Fire Department today unveiled a new fire engine with a distinctive Northwestern University-inspired purple and white color scheme.
The university agreed two years ago to provide $800,000 to fund the purchase of the new engine.
And Fire Chief Paul Polep says he started work shortly after that — meeting with firefighters at Fire Station #3 on Central Street where the new engine is housed — to come up with the new design concept for the engine — the latest of several fire and ambulance vehicles donated to the city by the university.

Janesville Fire Chief James Ponkauskas will retire this spring after 30 years with the agency, the city of Janesville announced Thursday.
Ponkauskas began his career in the fire service in 1988 as a firefighter and EMT for the Orfordville Fire Protection District. He then served there as fire chief of 13 years, half of his time with the department.

PHOTOS: A raging 5-alarm fire raced through a row of Bronx businesses early Wednesday morning, leaving at least one person injured.
The blaze broke out at Bunny’s Deli Cold Cut City at West 231st Street and Broadway in the Kingsbridge section just before 3:30 am, the FDNY said.
Two dozen videos uploaded to Citizen App showed huge flames and plumes of thick black smoke shooting into the air, and a crowd of firefighters battling the inferno both from the street level and from tower ladders.
